Tartary super-region is stretched along the vast plains and mountainous areas of the northern half of Asia. The area is dominated by various tribes, be it small tribal kingdoms or big horde nations. The area has two main focal points. The first are the eastern horde nations of which may eventually form Flag of Qing Qing and act against Flag of Ming Ming, the existing regional-power. The second are the western horde nations which will fight over dominance between each other while still being a constant threat to the eastern European nations. As time will go by the rising nation of Flag of Russia Russia is likely to appear from the north-west, gaining control of both empty and horde provinces until it reaches the sea on the other side.

The break-down of the Tartary super-region is as follows:

Government types

  • Government tribal.png Tribal governments can be found in the northeastern and most southern parts.

  • Tengri Tengri in the eastern part.
  • Sunni Islam Sunni in the western part.
  • Vajrayana.png Vajrayana in the most southern part.

Technology groups

  • Nomadic technology group Nomadic is the dominant technology group in these parts.
  • Muslim technology group Muslim is found in the far western parts.
  • Chinese technology group Chinese can be found in the northeastern and most southern parts.

Culture groups

  • Tatar and Altaic in the western and central parts respectively.
  • Evenki and Kamchatkan in the eastern and northeastern parts respectively.
  • Burman in the most southern parts.

Formable / Reformable nationsEdit

Some of these nations don't exist at the 1444 campaign start. They can appear if another nation chooses to form them. In (parentheses) are the historical dates they first appear in, if available.

Revolter nationsEdit

These nations don't exist and also lack cores at the 1444 campaign start. They can still appear if Separatist rebels.png Separatist rebels manage to take control of their cultural provinces. They can also be formed via Tibet selecting the relevant tag in the 'Steppe Politics' mission.
