How to Edith Colonial Idea

I know it looks like a noob question, but I do not find a way to edit the table of colonial ideas. Which are target by the link "Template:Idea group/Colonial".

'We need to finalise {{ version }} template values.

I used Conquest of Paradise for this page, but that's not a version really: it's a modular DLC. Perhaps we should use 1.4, and have a separate template like {{ DLC | Conquest of Paradise }} to signify/categorise DLC-only information.

An example of a possible DLC template.

I suppose that could be used on the very few pages it'd actually apply to. The only ones I can think of is New World generation and the native mechanics. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:28, 15 January 2014 (CET)
I agree. KaTiON Portugal.png (Talk | Contribs) 00:29, 15 January 2014 (CET)

Shouldn't this page list the special national ideas colonial nations get? It's not on the National Ideas page either as of January 16th.

It probably should; we just need to port the info over.--• General Baker Flag of Great Britain (Talk) • 11:18, 16 January 2014 (CET)

1.4, not conquest of paradise

The addition of Colonial nations came with the 1.4 patch and is not exclusive to owners of the Conquest of Paradise DLC, even though this article makes it out to be that way. Jurryaany (talk) 17:13, 20 January 2014 (CET)

That has now been corrected, thanks. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:11, 20 January 2014 (CET)

Who can form colonial nations?

So which countries/tech groups can form colonial nations anyway? I can't seem to find that info, even though it makes sense to be on this page. Is it restricted to Western or Eastern or Muslim nations, or could, say, Japan have a colonial nation if it had distant overseas colonies, even without Westernizing? (I don't have a formal login, just a user of the wiki, so no username to tag this with)

Anyone may have colonial states in America (north or south) as the requirement is 5 controlled provinces in a region. The exclusion is for one who its capital is in North or South America. For example, Iroquois may not have colonial state in California but in Peru they do. --Wrongovernmentype (talk) 10:14, 2 February 2014 (CET)
In that case, perhaps the wording on the page should be changed. Currently it reads, "available to European colonial powers" (or something like that). Something like "available to any nation" would be better, would it not?

Forcing to release colonies

Do I have to wait until Spain reaches adm 22 and then wear them down with exhaustion? Like there's no other way to force-release colonial nations from overlords? 09:22, 20 January 2015 (CET)

independent colonial nation

if a colonial nation breaks independent from its overlord and then I attack it and annex a lot of their provinces, will I get their land as my colonial land or will these provinces just form a subject colonial nation? It'll be really silly, if it will be just another colonial nation.. i'm not into an idea of this game being history simulator, i'd rather have it as global strategy in history setting >:P 13:57, 28 January 2015 (CET)
