Nagpur is a formable nation in Eastern India. Historically, Nagpur was part of the Gondi kingdom of Deogarh until 1793, upon which it passed into the hands of the Bhonsale dynasty and into the Maratha Empire. There the kingdom remained until 1818, where it became a protectorate of the British Empire.
