Presentation

MEIOU and Taxes is an EUIV total conversion mod brought to you by Gigau, Lukew, Myzael, DHarper, Sun Wu and the M&T team.

M&T was created to enhance your overall Europa Universalis IV experience. This mod contains a slew of new provinces and 450 new nations. Almost every aspect of the game has been either reworked or completely redone, with a new map, new trade system, new musical score by Stephen Wright, redone graphics and a totally reworked religious system.

Mods Included

Dei Gratia

Coded by dharper

Paradox Forum thread

A mod to enhance religion in the age of faith and reason.

Some of its major features include:

  • Religious minorities: each province can be divided into several different religions, each representing a share of the population.
  • Partial conversion: Going hand in hand with the minority system, conversion of minorities is handled differently than the main game. It will no longer be possible to eradicate every heretic province in a matter of a few years. But the ruler who wishes to establish religious unity has more tools in his arsenal, including persecuting minorities and letting them flee into exile in other countries.
  • New religions: religions that didn't make the cut for the game are now playable, including some that played an important role in this time period. Included are the Hussites, Jews, Wahhabis and more - for a total of 34 religions in total. All the CK2 religions are supported, so it should be possible to use Dei Gratia with your CK2 games with some minor edits.
  • Piety, Church Influence and Religious Tolerance: By your choices of ideas and decisions, you will be able to steer your country towards becoming more fanatical or more secular, have a stronger or weaker church, and tolerate minorities or celebrate the state religion.
  • New events and decisions: there is more to do and experience, with hundreds of new events, including a completely reworked Reformation event chain.
  • Religious Turmoil: Converting religion and eradicating heresy can be dangerous business, with Wars of Religion, religious uprisings, apostate rulers trying to reconvert back to old religions, and religious rebels.
  • Holy Lands: there are holy lands for many religions, with bonuses that vary depending on your religious fervor.

Serenissima Italia

Coded by Marco Dandolo

Paradox Forum thread

Serenissima Italia (SI) is an overhaul mod for the whole Italian peninsula. The goal is to create a deeper, more flavorful and historical plausible Italy.

Main changes :

  • Seven new Italian states: Trent, Montferrat, Bologna, Rimini, Lucca, Florence, Two Sicilies
  • Four new provinces: Triest, Montferrat, Lucca, Emilia (Bologna)
  • Very historical and flavorful leader-names, ships, armies and many new flags for most italian states
  • New unique government forms: Signoria, Venetian republic and Siena republic
  • Unique venetian government system with four different institutions, battling for power and influence; expanding in the Terraferma will cost you republican tradition! Institute the Stato da Tera and get rid of this malus, expand the Arsenale to gain naval dominance. 20 additional, historical flavour events for Venice await you
  • Unique Medici-system for Florence: keep Cosimo in power, play with Piero and Lorenzo, show the people your greatness, support the renaissance, make reforms, abolish the Gonfaloniere and become Signore of Florence! Found Medici banks in other Italian cities to gain more wealth!
  • Minor Italian holdings: Defend as Genoa or Venice your little trade outposts in the Eastern Mediterranean - or conquer Modon, Coron, Focea and Amasra and show these Italians who is the right owner of the province!
  • Form Tuscany and Two Sicilies
  • Form Italy decision completely reworked; you need to control the most important Italian states (provinces OR vassals), instead of the geographical center
  • New, more historical National ideas for Italy
  • More correct Italian culture map: Lombard, Venetian, Tuscan, Umbrian, Neapolitan, Sicilian and Insular (Sardinia/Corsica)
  • New Arpitan culture for the region Switzerland-Lyon-Savoy
  • New advisors: Composers and Architects
  • National Ideas for all italian states!
  • New decisions: move capital to Turin for Savoy, establish Livorno as harbor for Tuscany, finish the Duomo di Siena for… yes, Siena! (and many, many more)
  • Renaissance life: play Calcio, be part of the Palio di Siena, held the Sensa in Venice, or arrange a Carnival!
  • The sound of music: invent the Madrigal, the Opera and the Symphony and hire compsoers to invent new masterpieces; build opera houses and encounter great composers like Monteverdi, Lully and Bach.
  • Architecture: Modernize your capital and develop your own style (Renaissance, Baroque, Rokoko, Classicism). Watch individual cities developing, having Palazzi, gardens or museums.
  • More than 200 (!) events, regarding Venetian politics, Medici politics, Renaissance life, cultural events like Sandro Botticelli and historical events like the Galileo affair
  • Historical titles: no more Kings in Italy and the HRE, but Margraves and Dukes. Italian republics have a “Gonfaloniere” as head-of-state
  • Impassable borders in some european mountain zones
  • Reworked HRE and Italian AI; those will be much more peaceful and keep central Europe stable
  • Reworked HRE cultures and regions
  • Added three provinces in the HRE (City of Cologne, City of Augsburg and Ingolsstadt), added three countries (Nürnberg, City of Cologne, City of Augsburg)
  • Major eventchain and decision regarding the Cologne Cathedral for City of Cologne (and others, under certain circumstances)

Pax Sinica

Coded by Chatnoir17

Paradox Forum thread

Mod's most important aim is to make Ming game-play more reasonable and interesting with the improved Faction System. We are in the process of improving China and also it's neighbors in order to represent the Sino-sphere in a more historically plausible way. Our design philosophy is to make mod vanilla friendly and balanced (no total overhaul done here).

Main changes :

  • There are many new so called Dynamic Historical Events (DHE) for China, Japan and other Asian countries. The descriptions and effects of vanilla events are also tweaked for historically better output.
  • New events about factions are added. The late Ming period has more troubles in order to make the game play as Ming more challenging.
  • New Daimyos in the 16th and 17th centuries such as Oda and Tokugawa rise as in real life history and old big ones like Hosokawa or Yamana get serious internal problems.
  • Mongol, Oirats, Tibet, Dai Viet, Shan and Taungu get more love.
  • Pax Sinica also changes vanilla systems and added completely new game designs. However, we try to keep them simple as possible, so there is no need to read another manual!
  • Ahistorical temple faction is removed and Emperor faction is added. The effects of each faction are also tweaked and enjoyable now.
  • The holder of the Celestial Empire could be changed by wars. The holder has some bonus to govern China more easily.
  • Ming or other states having the government Celestial Empire can build tributary relations with neighboring countries. This tributary relationship gives benefits on the both sides.
  • Not only Ming, but also other big countries get some (not too harsh) penalties according to their monthly income and tech levels. During the technological advance, these penalities will be removed.
  • The Japanese Shogun and daimyos now have decisions about reforms in order to expand the territory in Japan. We won't have ahistorically united Japan in the 16th century now.
