Candar begins as a two province minor on the coast of Anatolia. With the Ottomans quickly gaining claims on their land, as well as sharing the same religion and culture, they are nearly always attacked by the Flag of Ottomans Ottomans very early on.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Strategy The below is one of many player suggested strategies for Candar. Bear in mind, due to the dynamic nature of the game, it may unfold differently for other players.

Situation and goals early on[edit | edit source]

To begin with, a Candar player must decide how to approach the Ottomans. If the player is trying to get the Turkish Delight achievement, they also should try to get a foothold in Iberia or the Maghreb so they can have the colonial range to reach the Americas before other nations like Flag of Castile Castile set up colonial nations, because the Americas(specifically the Caribbean and Brazil) is where most of the sugar provinces will appear. To this end, there are 2 major ways to go about this.

War with the Ottomans[edit | edit source]

This strategy requires quite a bit of RNG on alliances and what the Ottomans first moves are. The main goal is to attack the Ottomans while they are distracted in another war, preferably against Flag of Venice Venice or Flag of Byzantium Byzantium, and take as much land as possible before the Ottomans peace out of their war. The player should ally the Flag of Mamluks Mamluks if possible, as that will make the first wars much easier. If the player cannot ally the Mamluks however, they should ally Flag of Karaman Karaman, Flag of Aq Qoyunlu Aq Qoyunlu, or any nation that will join in an offensive war against the Ottomans, preferably a nation that has a navy as that will help with the strategy for the first war.

Winning the war[edit | edit source]

In order to gain as much war score as possible in the war, the player should attack when the Ottoman army is distracted in Europe, preferably when they attack Byzantium or Venice as these nations have a large navy and can help the player blockade the straits between the Balkans and Anatolia. With the straits blockaded, all the player will have to do then is occupy the two provinces on the Asian side of the straits and the Ottomans will be unable to cross, trapping their army in Europe. With the Ottoman army trapped in Europe, the player can begin sieging Ankara and the other forts in Anatolia while occupying the remaining provinces. When the player has occupied Anatolia, they should march an army into the Ottoman capital(if it hasn't already been sieged and isn't defended) and peace out when the army starts to siege the province. The player should take their cores back and as much land as possible alongside ducats with the remaining warscore.

Turkish Delight - Exodus to Ireland[edit | edit source]

For the "Turkish Delight" achievement, the player can attempt an exodus strategy. For this, the player should no-CB a minor in Ireland and vassalize them. Use one of the newly acquired subjects' claims to conquer a province in Ireland and core it. After coring, the player can choose to move their capital to Ireland and sell their Anatolian provinces to the Ottomans. In Ireland, the player can also choose to convert to Catholicism through rebels. It is important for the player to be careful about England here, as they have become the biggest threat to their existence.

In Ireland the player should focus on colonizing the Americas. Exploration ideas and diplomatic tech 7, and if necessary combined with a 20% colonial range advisor, should give enough range to colonize the Caribbean. The player should be careful about their financial situation and should try to colonize a province that borders native nations in Mexico. Through this, the player will be able to take province, ducats and war reparations from the natives. At this time, the player should move their capital to the Americas and either sell their remaining province or grant it to their vassal.

From here on out, the player should be able to complete the achievement, through colonization and war with both native and colonial nations.
