id

Msg event.pngThe $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Seize Power

$MONARCH$ has allowed the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ of $COUNTRY$ to grow too powerful and now they have made their move. Exercising the wide range of privileges and rights granted to them, they have effectively seized the reins of government and turned the $MONARCHTITLE$ into little more than their puppet.

We should have seen this coming...

The country:

  • loses Stability.png1 stability.

If the country

else it gets the modifier “Nobility in Power”

  • … until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision with the following effects:
    • Yearly legitimacy.png −0.5 yearly legitimacy,
    • Autonomy.png +0.03 monthly autonomy change,
    • Infantry cost.png +10% infantry cost,
    • Cavalry cost.png +25% cavalry cost.

[Root.GetName] will now be controlled by the Nobility until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision is taken.

While the disaster is ongoing the country gets:

  • National tax modifier.png −25% national tax modifier,
  • Trade power.png −25% global trade power,
  • Trade efficiency.png −25% trade efficiency.

End[edit | edit source]

The disaster can only be ended by the following decision.[2]

id

Execute decision.pngCurtail the Nobility

Our government is run by and for the aristocracy. To adopt a more centralized administration we will need to curtail their power and privileges.

Potential requirements

One of the following must be true for the country:

  • has an ongoing ‘Aristocratic Coup’ disaster.
  • has any of following modifiers:
    • “Nobility in Power”
    • “Junker Dominance”
    • “Ümera Dominance”
    • “Shizu Dominance”
    • “Dominance of the Bushi”
    • “Amir Dominance”
    • “Mamluk Amir Dominance”
    • “Dominance of the Boyars”
    • “Nobility in Power”
Allow

The country:

  • Stability.png Stability is at least 1.
  • does not have rebel armies in its provinces.
  • does not have rebel controlled provinces.
  • has a Nobility.pngNobility estate with less than Nobility influence.png 60 influence.

Effects

The country:

  • loses Stability.png3 stability,
  • loses Yearly prestige.png25 prestige.

If the country has the modifier “Nobility in Power”, “Junker Dominance”, “Ümera Dominance”, “Shizu Dominance”, “Dominance of the Bushi”, “Amir Dominance”, “Mamluk Amir Dominance”, “Dominance of the Boyars” or “Nobility in Power” then it is removed.

Then the following event is triggered.

id

Msg event.pngThe $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Curtailed

We have managed to limit the influence of the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ to tolerable levels. $ESTATE_NOBLES$ privileges have been revoked and their properties reduced. The $ESTATE_NOBLES$ themselves have grudgingly agreed that the $MONARCHTITLE$ is the undisputable leader of this country and the stamp formerly used by the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ in place of [Root.Monarch.GetHerHis] signature has been destroyed.
