Few have profited more than us from the fall of the Akamatsu clan after their assassination of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori. As the Akamatsu were stripped of their important lands and belongings many of them were given to reward our loyalty, and as a sign that we have atoned for the rebellion of 1391. This sudden rise to power has made some suspicious however. The Hosokawa especially view our influence as troubling and might well act to limit our influence in the future.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Yamana starts in 1444 as one of the strongest Daimyo , and it is a fine candidate for uniting Japan.
Early game
Your first goal should be consolidating he south of Japan. The key to victory is balance between aggressive expansion, conquest, and switching alliances. The first conquest should be Amago to connect your lands and your main rival
Hosokawa. To do this search for their rivals and ally them. Take any loans or hire any mercenaries you need and going vastly over Force Limit just to beat enemy. Exploit "Indebted to the Bourgeoisie" privilege from the Burghers, you can remove the privilege and reinstate it again.
Further expansion
After securing the south you should rival stronger clans on the north. Depending on yours army strength you can first beat other rivals or taking Kioto. After uniting Japan expand in Korea and Ming. At the same time colonize as much Syberia and Indochina you can, which will provides you more manpower and money.

Yamana has very good traditions and national ideas. Beginning with +20% National manpower modifier and +1 Diplomatic reputation, Yamana has an advantage over its neighbors.
If player’s goal is uniting Japan as quick as possible recommended ideas are military ideas such as Defensive,
