List of provinces generation[edit]

Could you upload the code you wrote to generate the list of provinces somewhere, so that if you go AWOL we can still generate a new one if some patch changes a bunch of provinces? ~ Meneth (talk) 16:02, 29 January 2015 (CET)

It is here: https://github.com/dlbuunk/EU4WikiList It generates both the province and region files. If you need help with anything, just post a message here. I get an e-mail when this page changes, and I don't intend to not answer it. --Silver Wizard (talk) 16:13, 29 January 2015 (CET)
Thanks! Sticking in on the talk page for the list of provinces. ~ Meneth (talk) 16:40, 29 January 2015 (CET)

Evening. Could you update the list? Since I don't use Linux I can't run the generator without rewriting that shell script. ~ Meneth (talk) 22:57, 26 February 2015 (CET)

I'll see what I can do. Is tomorrow quick enough? --Silver Wizard (talk) 23:00, 26 February 2015 (CET)
Of course. No hurry. Apparently there's a couple of new things it should account for in 1.10, BTW: "Two of the new features in patch 1.10 are Inland Important Centers of Trade and Important Natural Harbors". ~ Meneth (talk) 23:25, 26 February 2015 (CET)
Updated the provinces list, the region lists, the regions page, and the trade node list to 1.10. The Inland Important Centers of Trade and Important Natural Harbors weren't a problem, my script turned out to be forward-compatible with them. Then there were a few bugs from 1.8 fixed, so my bugfixes for those now gave trouble... Anyway, if there is still something horribly wrong that I didn't notice, feel free to complain. --Silver Wizard (talk) 05:38, 2 March 2015 (CET)

List of provinces split[edit]

Evening. It turns out that your list of provinces has gotten so long that it caused significant load issues for the whole wiki server. I was therefore forced to nuke it.

However, as it is a pretty useful page, I'd like to salvage as much of it as possible. My idea is therefore that it be split in three:

  • Geographical list of provinces (shows ID, name, and continent through area
  • Political list of provinces (shows ID, name, owner, culture, culture group, and religion)
  • Economic list of provinces (shows ID, name, development, trade goods, trade node, and permanent modifiers)

Do you think you could modify your script to generate these three pages? We'd gladly give you tickets in the contest for it. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:36, 8 April 2016 (CEST)
