List of provinces[edit]

Please stop adding columns with no content to the list of provinces. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:16, 17 September 2014 (CEST)

Do you think a column (with content) with the associated trade node is useful, Meneth? – Lillebror (talk) 10:24, 17 September 2014 (CEST)
Sure, but only if it was actually filled out. Rule of thumb of wiki editing is to not create placeholders on live pages. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:25, 17 September 2014 (CEST)
There are 1249 land provinces in EU4, I will do my job to add a column with TN ,but it will take me some time. Forgive me for my laziness. ~ Kongzheng(talk) 03:16, 18 September 2014 (CEST)
Please note the special characters (åçÎæäü?…) while editing. – Lillebror (talk) 08:57, 18 September 2014 (CEST)

Edit summaries[edit]

You're doing a lot of great work. What'd make it even better is if you'd write a short (a sentence, or even just a few words, depending on the edit) edit summary whenever you make an edit. That makes it a lot easier for me and others to look through the changes you've made, and potentially further improve upon them. Thanks, ~ Meneth (talk) 13:04, 18 October 2014 (CEST)

I am a greenhand in wiki, so I am not familiar with the wiki rules. Well, I will add summary from now on.--kongzheng (talk) 13:12, 18 October 2014 (CEST)
Not really a rule, more of a guideline, but it makes things a lot easier. Any reason you edited a bunch of army stuff into the navy page BTW? ~ Meneth (talk) 13:13, 18 October 2014 (CEST)
I am still rewriting that sect. After about 10 minutes, it will be done.--kongzheng (talk) 13:15, 18 October 2014 (CEST)
Recommendation: When making a series of edits that'll temporary make a page worse (army stuff on a navy page can certainly be considered worse), use a sandbox page to do the editing, then move it over to the proper page once you're done. Your sandbox: User:Kongzheng/Sandbox. You can make sub-pages as well if you've got any long-running projects. E.G., User:Kongzheng/Sandbox/ProjectName. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:17, 18 October 2014 (CEST)

Moving sections[edit]

When moving sections, please do that in one edit. It makes it a lot clearer what's happening, and avoids the page being worse due to the lack of the section until the next edit happens. Click the "edit" button in the top right instead of editing a specific section in order to easily achieve that. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:39, 19 October 2014 (CEST)

I will use sandbox. Hope won't bother the wiki visitors during my editing.--kongzheng (talk) 00:42, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
For simple moving that can be done directly on the page. Just in one edit rather than two, so that there's no period of time when the section doesn't exist, and so that the edit history won't say you deleted a huge chunk from the article, then added a huge chunk to the article. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:43, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
