"gold" for ducats may be a bad idea since there is also the trade good Gold. --Evil4Zerggin (talk) 04:38, 4 October 2013 (CEST)

Fair enough. I just noticed a few articles using it in the old iteration of the template for ducats... I'll have to remember which so I can change em :S --General Baker Great Britain.png (Talk | Contribs) 21:02, 4 October 2013 (CEST)

I'd suggest changing the link of the 'Prestige Decay' icon to point to Prestige#Decay. The current link has no page and the proposed link explains all things prestige-related.--John69Doe (talk) 16:59, 23 November 2013 (CET)

That's what redirects are for. I've set one up now. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:00, 23 November 2013 (CET)
Thanks, this made me learn about how to add redirects --John69Doe (talk) 01:43, 28 November 2013 (CET)

Uploaded the CKII import religions and cocoa trade good. If there's a list of missing icons, I'd be glad to help more.--Kainazzo (talk) 06:25, 17 January 2014 (CET)

Yes the Religions and denominations contains some weird strings. New icons are not added automatically to the template, I'd recommend making sure the icons are in the template before updating pages, since it's better for users if the pages with information are "nice" :P

Good to know, thanks :)--Kainazzo (talk) 19:06, 17 January 2014 (CET)

The Administrative technology cost admin tech cost icon looks the same as the Military technology costmilitary tech cost icon.--John69Doe (talk) 23:44, 4 February 2014 (CET)

The last time I checked they were identical in-game too. Might've been fixed by now; I'll check. ~ Meneth (talk) 23:47, 4 February 2014 (CET)
Checked. EU4 still uses the wrong icon for adm tech cost. ~ Meneth (talk) 23:47, 4 February 2014 (CET)
Weird, well it's up to you if we shall remain true to the source material :) --John69Doe (talk) 23:58, 4 February 2014 (CET)
Well, we kind of have to. The correct icon doesn't exist in the game, so the only way to get it would be to actually have someone make it. ~ Meneth (talk) 23:59, 4 February 2014 (CET)
If you hover over the icon in-game (where btw?) does it display text referencing admin tech cost ? John69Doe (talk) 00:02, 5 February 2014 (CET)
No clue. But adm_tech_cost_modifier.dds is the same as mil_tech_cost_modifier.dds. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:03, 5 February 2014 (CET)

You're a half-op, so you should be able to edit the template directly to fix those things. ~ Meneth (talk) 12:03, 22 May 2014 (CEST)
Sorry, I have read the first line only to Administrator…
That you can do something does not mean that this is always useful.

Thanks! I'll have to think about how the rest should be handled. If anyone else has any input or ideas, that'd be appreciated. ~ Meneth (talk) 07:55, 23 May 2014 (CEST)

Would't it be better to create a subpage for the documentation? Especially since you can use the template there. Mistakes as in my last edit (incomplete file name) will perhaps be noticed faster. – Lillebror (talk) 16:17, 18 June 2014 (CEST)

The biggest disadvantage is that that would require two separate edits whenever an icon is added. Seems to add a lot of tedium for little practical gain. ~ Meneth (talk) 02:20, 19 June 2014 (CEST)

The icon of local trade power, provincial trade power[edit]

They are confusing. Need to be fixed.

Perhaps ;-)
Perhaps it is sometimes better to specify your wishes.
The icon Provincial trade power modifier.png for “Provincial trade power modifier” is a country-wide modifiers of ideas and policies. See Provincial trade power.
The icon Local trade power.png is a custom made icon designed for the use on the building page. It is used for “province_trade_power_value” modifier of buildings which is ingame called “Local Trade Power”.
The icon Province trade power modifier.png for “province_trade_power_modifier” of buildings is ingame also called “Local Trade Power”.

New keywords for patch 1.8[edit]

Can someone with access to the source code add unrest as one of the keywords for what was previously revolt risk? There may be a couple more keywords that will need to be added too, but I will post them here if I come across them. Thanks! Vyn (talk) 00:59, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Done. Global unrest was already there, but I've made unrest an alias for it. ~ Meneth (talk) 01:01, 1 November 2014 (CET)
Think this is how it's used... Still learning the ropes... Anyways, if possible please add the Province Warscore Cost and Vassal (crown and shield) keyword/icons. Thanks in advance - Phriyion (talk) 11:22, 1 November 2014 (CET)
Done. Also added an icon for march. – Lillebror (talk) 14:19, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Any chance on adding native building icons and client state icon? More icons on a page filled with text kinda makes it easier on the eye. - Phriyion (talk) 20:17, 1 November 2014 (CET)

I think the native buildings can probably be referenced directly instead; I can't imagine they'll get used outside the native page, so adding them to the icon template seems unnecessary.
I'll see if I can get them uploaded though.
I'll look into client state. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:19, 1 November 2014 (CET)
I've uploaded the native buildings. They're in Category:Building icons.
Turns out there isn't actually a client state icon; they use the vassal icon instead. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:35, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Leader siege[edit]

Done. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:28, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Attitude icons[edit]

Do we have any individual attitude icons on this wiki? Media:Attitude_icons_strip.png has a strip of small icons, but I have not seen any individual ones of the standard size yet. This would be helpful for Relations#Attitude, as well as Diplomacy where attitude affects most AI decisions. Vyn (talk) 19:13, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Unless someone can find larger versions I'm afraid there's not much that can be done. ~ Meneth (talk) 19:15, 1 November 2014 (CET)

I think I found the original file under gfx\interface with the same name, though with a dds extension. The original image size is 240 x 24 pixels, so I cut that up into twelve 20 x 24 pixel icons:

Attitude defensive.png Attitude domineering.png Attitude friendly.png Attitude hostile.png Attitude neutral.png Attitude outraged.png Attitude overlord.png Attitude protective.png Attitude rivalry.png Attitude threatened.png Attitude unknown.png Attitude icon vassal.png

Could you add these to the template with the appropriate keywords? I think just using one word such as friendly will be fine, but if you want to be careful, attitude friendly should work too. Vyn (talk) 23:51, 1 November 2014 (CET)

I can make these larger of course, though I think the automatic resizing in the template should take care of that. Vyn (talk) 23:52, 1 November 2014 (CET)

Here's a block of code that can be used as a template if convenient:

 -->| defensive attitude = <!--
 -->| domineering attitude = <!--
 -->| friendly attitude = <!--
 -->| hostile attitude = <!--
 -->| neutral attitude = <!--
 -->| outraged attitude = <!--
 -->| overlord attitude = <!--
 -->| protective attitude = <!--
 -->| rivalry attitude = <!--
 -->| threatened attitude = <!--
 -->| unknown attitude = <!--
 -->| vassal attitude = <!--

The keywords defensive, unknown, and vassal are already under use; the last two even have similar icons. I have attached attitude to everything just to be safe and consistent. Icon sizes were set at 28 since that seems to be the convention (28 sizeAttitude friendly.png vs original sizeAttitude friendly.png) Vyn (talk) 00:53, 3 November 2014 (CET)

Upsizing them is a bad idea since that significantly degrades quality. I'll add them in as 20px default. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:28, 3 November 2014 (CET)
Added. Example: Domineering attitude. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:33, 3 November 2014 (CET)

Ruler personality icons[edit]

I just extracted the personality icons in the same manner as above. They are 20 x 24 pixels too.

Personality icon administrator.png Personality icon balanced.png Personality icon colonialist.png Personality icon diplomat.png Personality icon human.png Personality icon militarist.png

Here is a code block (with the proper spelling!):

 -->| personality administrator = <!--
 -->| personality balanced = <!--
 -->| personality colonizer = <!--
 -->| personality diplomat = <!--
 -->| personality human = <!--
 -->| personality militarist = <!--

Not sure if the keywords are better as personality administrator or administrator personality. I went with the former since that's the order of the words in the tooltips. Vyn (talk) 00:32, 4 November 2014 (CET)

Added. Keep the underscores out of the links BTW; they're unnecessary, and will eventually be replaced with spaces whenever AutoWikiBrowser goes through them as that's considered standard. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:49, 4 November 2014 (CET)
I finally got Portugal to spawn a ruler with Personality icon colonialist.png personality, only to find it's actually called colonialist rather than colonizer. This will require a change in the keyword, probably with a move of the file too (link: File:Personality_icon_colonizer.png). Vyn (talk) 08:21, 10 November 2014 (CET)
Done – Lillebror (talk) 09:06, 10 November 2014 (CET)

Blockade icon[edit]

I took this from gfx/interface/combat_blockade.dds. The template already has icons for blockade efficiency (with an arrow) and the blockade button, but it's missing a plain blockade icon (Combat blockade.png). Code block as usual:

 -->| blockade = <!--

Looks like it will fit in the naval warfare section. Vyn (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2014 (CET)

Could you please categorize the icons you upload in the future? For the categories, see Category:Images.
Anyway, added. ~ Meneth (talk) 22:10, 5 November 2014 (CET)
I thought about categorizing it too, but hesitated when I saw similar icons with just Category:Military icons, and others that also had Category:Icons. Just now I realized you could have category pages be inside other categories, so one only needs to apply the lowest level categorization. I will add the categories from now on, though you should probably still review them for accuracy. Vyn (talk) 22:29, 5 November 2014 (CET)
I review basically everything for accuracy, so that's not an issue ;) ~ Meneth (talk) 22:30, 5 November 2014 (CET)

Am vassal icon[edit]

The tooltip for this icon (Vassalage.png) shows the vassalization date:

 -->| am vassal = <!--

Vyn (talk) 23:28, 5 November 2014 (CET)

I suppose is vassal may be a valid keyword too. Some of the icon names are strange. Vyn (talk) 23:29, 5 November 2014 (CET)
Added it as "vassalage". ~ Meneth (talk) 23:31, 5 November 2014 (CET)

Overextension icon[edit]

Couldn't find this on the template: (Overextension.png)

 -->| overextension = <!--

Vyn (talk) 04:11, 8 November 2014 (CET)

Added. Please don't include "icon" in icon names; it is redundant (though in this case unavoidable since someone had named another file overextension.png). ~ Meneth (talk) 13:32, 8 November 2014 (CET)
It seemed more prudent to retain the original file name where possible, since it would makes it far easier to match things up if all the game's graphical assets get uploaded by a script some day. If that's not something to worry about right now however, then I can certainly use more natural names. Vyn (talk) 22:09, 8 November 2014 (CET)

There seems to be a distinct lack of loan icons. Putting a request for one, if that isn't too much trouble?

I never realized that there is such an icon in the game. It’s no problem to add if you have one. Do you have one? – Lillebror (talk) 10:02, 5 January 2015 (CET)

Can an icon for daimyos be added? I can't find one in the gfx folder. Mapleyy (talk) 19:36, 26 February 2015 (CET)

Is there an in-game icon for daimyo? ~ Meneth (talk) 19:50, 26 February 2015 (CET)

New opinion/AI attitude icons for vassals[edit]

Could icons for loyal and disloyal vassal attitudes be added if possible, please? Thanks, Mapleyy (talk) 04:19, 3 March 2015 (CET)

I added the icons for loyal, disloyal and rebellious vassal attitudes. – Lillebror (talk) 09:38, 3 March 2015 (CET)

Nowrap text label[edit]

Icons often have the appropriate text next to them and it's rather ugly, and hurts readability, when a line break happens between the two. Maybe we could have an option to add it in a non-wrapping span. Example:

would give code like

<span style="white-space:nowrap"> Time to fabricate claims</span>

which looks like this:

Cost to fabricate claims.png Time to fabricate claims

compared to without the span:

Cost to fabricate claims.png Time to fabricate claims

(Unrelated: I noticed "Cost of reducing war exhaustion" doesn't have a key even though that's what it's called in game.) Thrawcheld (talk) 04:08, 8 March 2015 (CET)

Good idea …
The most icons are used in lists, where it should be no problem. Unless these list are in tables or infoboxes. Tables should have such a style, that this is not a problem. Did you think in particular of the tables on the building page? What size (resolution) is your screen? I don’t know which effect such a change would have in the small infoboxes. – Lillebror (talk) 09:09, 8 March 2015 (CET)
I suggested wrapping the whole thing in a nowrap span because I couldn't work out how to prohibit a break only between the image and the first word. Just now I realised a no-break space might work, and after a bit of fiddling I got the result I wanted by putting only the image and an nbsp in the span. Here it is in the same box as above:
Cost to fabricate claims.png Time to fabricate claims
To answer your question: I have 1080p on my desktop (and I play EU4 at that res with Arumba's expanded interface mod), but I tend to browse the wiki on my phone (even while playing, to avoid alt-tabbing). The phone's screen is 1280x720 in landscape, of which the area used by the browser is a bit less due to system widgets. Thrawcheld (talk) 04:07, 9 March 2015 (CET)

Can we add this abbreviation?

 • "culture threshold" istead "accepted ..."
 • "tech cost" istead "technology cost"
 • "idea" istead "idea icon"
 • "stability cost" istead "stability cost modifier"
 • "nationalism" istead "years of nationalism"

Thanks. Stigni (talk) 14:52, 8 March 2015 (CET)

Added “idea”.
Added “tech cost” – (I don't like this abbreviation in the written text.)
“culture threshold” – It should be a short cut. Perhaps than just “act” is a better choice.
“stability cost”, “years of nationalism” – Stability cost is not the same as stability cost modifier and nationalism not the same as years of nationalism. I see a great risk of confusion especially in the second case.
– Lillebror (talk) 09:27, 9 March 2015 (CET)
My abbreviation was just an idea, but for example the stability cost doesn't have is own icon (because it is Administrative power.png). On the other hand we can add a number like on the event_modifier.txt Stigni (talk) 10:04, 10 March 2015 (CET)
Okay, I added an icon for stability cost. – Lillebror (talk) 10:35, 10 March 2015 (CET)

Female advisor portraits[edit]

I've uploaded the female advisor portraits that came with the Women in History DLC. They should be added to the table and the template:

Advisor Army organiser female.PNGAdvisor Army reformer female.PNGAdvisor Artist female.PNGAdvisor Colonial governor female.PNGAdvisor Commandant female.PNGAdvisor Diplomat female.PNGAdvisor Fortification expert female.PNG

Advisor Grand captain female.PNGAdvisor Inquisitor female.PNGAdvisor Master of mint female.PNGAdvisor Natural scientist female.PNGAdvisor Naval reformer female.PNGAdvisor Navigator female.PNGAdvisor Philosopher female.PNG

Advisor Quartermaster female.PNGAdvisor Recruitmaster female.PNGAdvisor Spymaster female.PNGAdvisor Statesman female.PNGAdvisor Theologian female.PNGAdvisor Trader female.PNGAdvisor Treasurer female.PNG

Vaximillian (talk) 02:17, 9 March 2015 (CET)

Should one add the icons so that always both portraits are displayed? – Lillebror (talk) 09:29, 9 March 2015 (CET)
I think it'd be better to have male as a default and female with a modifier. Vaximillian (talk) 09:42, 9 March 2015 (CET)
As advisors of both sexes should be formed with equal frequency in a random creation, provide the same bonus… I suggest the following:
artist Advisor Artist.pngAdvisor Artist female.PNG
artist-m Advisor Artist.png
artist-f Advisor Artist female.PNG
– Lillebror (talk) 09:20, 10 March 2015 (CET)
Advisors are only female 2% of the time, Lillebror. ~ Meneth (talk) 09:25, 10 March 2015 (CET)
Okay. Then the question arises whether to add the images at all. – Lillebror (talk) 09:35, 10 March 2015 (CET)

Icons for ruler and heir[edit]

Currently, the terms 'ruler' and 'heir' with are assigned to the symbols for a ruler and heir as general. Unfortunately, however, they are used as they symbolized really ruler and heir. Are there icons for ruler and heir? If yes, how to rename then the existing symbols? – Lillebror (talk) 19:43, 15 March 2015 (CET)

If there are, "heir general" and "ruler general" would probably be the most logical new names. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:04, 15 March 2015 (CET)
I have changed the naming of the existing identifier (and removed the wrong usage of the icons). – Lillebror (talk) 08:05, 27 March 2015 (CET)

Default size[edit]

The size of the used icons is set to 24px on a lot of pages. Why is the default size 28px? Should we change it to 24px? – Lillebror (talk) 19:48, 15 March 2015 (CET)

Which is more prevalent? To my knowledge most uses of the template don't specify a size, and thus use the default. It is possible that 24px works better in-line, while 28px works better in headers (tables and regular), so both are quite common. Changing the default might be problematic though due to the sheer number of places the template is used, so it shouldn't be done unless there's a compelling reason to. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:03, 15 March 2015 (CET)
Is consistency a compelling reason? The documentation on template:icon says the default is 20px most, in practice the default is usually 24px or 28px. For example on Claim#Temporary claim has 3 similar icons below each-other, with the first one defaulting to 24px and the others 28px. I had to specify a size (or create a table) to make the text line up. --Malkanto (talk) 22:35, 6 September 2017 (CEST)
I think some errors has crept in. Default size is still 28px. – Lillebror (talk) 22:55, 6 September 2017 (CEST)
OK good, work-around removed. --Malkanto (talk) 23:10, 6 September 2017 (CEST)

Please add icon for karma, either single one, or negative/positive. I couldn't open their files in gfx catalogue of EU4. Puchacz (talk) 09:43, 13 October 2015 (CEST)

I can only find icons for high karma and low karma, as for Devotion.pngbeing pious and Lack of pietylack of piety. (There is also no icon for piety.) – Lillebror (talk) 10:03, 13 October 2015 (CEST)
Also no icon for neutral karma. – Lillebror (talk) 10:06, 13 October 2015 (CEST)
That is OK. They are only different in the background colour, so if the background is blanked we can use it as general karma, but original icons would be fine to for templating events. Puchacz (talk) 10:09, 13 October 2015 (CEST)

Note that Fetishist events currently uses “ibadi zealots”, “shiite zealots” and “shamanist zealots”. --Malkanto (talk) 18:24, 12 September 2017 (CEST)
Added “ibadi zealots”. – Lillebror (talk) 08:53, 13 September 2017 (CEST)
OK, I guess I should have known that shiite and shia refer to the same thing, but how are editors supposed to know that they have to type "fetishist" when they want "shamanist"? --Malkanto (talk) 12:15, 13 September 2017 (CEST)
 :-) What should I answer. The wiki uses the naming the game displays - not the terms in the game files. – Lillebror (talk) 15:36, 13 September 2017 (CEST)
Shiite/Shia are two "accepted" spellings used for the same thing. Fetishist/Shamanist is also a non-issue as there is no more shamanism in the game past patch 1.18. If a template call fails it will retrieve the default warning so you may access the template page via the provided link to search manually within the appropriate section. Edit: I should really focus on doing one thing at a time. ~ SolSys (talk) 15:46, 13 September 2017 (CEST)
Need add the icon "Shinto zealots" for Shinto events‎ --Pokewiz (talk) 06:10, 9 January 2018 (CET)

Power projection[edit]

I just had cause to use an icon for Power projection.png power projection (on Diplomacy, relating to embargoing rivals or subsidizing their enemies) and found it wasn't included in this template. Could it be added please? Hairy Dude (talk) 02:58, 21 October 2015 (CEST)

Done. – Lillebror (talk) 09:00, 21 October 2015 (CEST)
Thanks. Hairy Dude (talk) 16:22, 21 October 2015 (CEST)

Icons for The Cossacks[edit]

Mention new icons for The Cossacks here.

 • Expansion icon (suggest key cos): The Cossacks.png
 • may study technology: May study technology.png

Hairy Dude (talk) 19:09, 1 December 2015 (CET)

I’ve already added the first. I don’t know if the second is necessary. We also have no icons for ‘auto explore adjacent to colony’, ‘cb on religious enemies’ etc. – Lillebror (talk) 19:23, 1 December 2015 (CET)
The latter is the icon for the associated idea, so is needed for espionage and espionage idea group. Rho (talk) 15:13, 2 December 2015 (CET)
The idea group templates don't use the icon template. – Lillebror (talk) 15:27, 2 December 2015 (CET)
Yeah, I already added it to DLC-only. Here's the icons for estates:
Hairy Dude (talk) 16:36, 2 December 2015 (CET)
Was already done. – Lillebror (talk) 17:03, 2 December 2015 (CET)
Please add horde unity, if you have any spare time. Puchacz (talk) 17:01, 2 December 2015 (CET)

Add icon|zunist for the religions and denominations page[edit]

Right now the religions and denominations entry for Zunism (from CK2 conversions) uses the Inti icon in its listing and a picture of the Zunist icon in its actual section. Unfortunately, I'm unsure what the icon should be as I have not converted a CK2 game with reformed Zunism into EU4 yet, but I think it's its own icon rather than the Inti icon. BFKelleher (talk) 19:21, 9 December 2015 (CET)

As all the icons of the converted religion are only used once on the religion and denominations page, I think it's a good idea to remove them from the template. – Lillebror (talk) 23:31, 9 December 2015 (CET)
Reformed Zunism uses the Inti icon when coverting a CK2 game with reformed Zunism into EU4 as the converter's and EU4's icon_religion file does not have a separate one for Zunism. I kept the CK2 icon when I was updating the section as I wasn't sure if I should remove it or not. Zraith (talk) 00:41, 10 December 2015 (CET)
Oh my bad. I didn't realize this. Never mind then. BFKelleher (talk) 02:16, 10 December 2015 (CET)

Icons for military actions[edit]

It misses the following:

 • Harsh treatment
 • Force marsh
 • Take colony
 • Burn colony

etc...--FrogCrusher (talk) 11:20, 25 August 2016 (CEST)

You mean the buttons of the army window? Do you want to use them? Serveral time? – Lillebror (talk) 11:30, 25 August 2016 (CEST)
Yes I meant that. Sorry, it is not harsh treatment but scorched earth. I was looking for them (Scorched earth actually) when I was introducing modifiers for local tax. All can be used in the land warfare article, and some of them in the colony article and in the rebellion article for example. If you don't want to add them all, at least Scorched earth because it implies modifiers and there might be several situations where we can talk about those modifiers. --FrogCrusher (talk) 13:33, 25 August 2016 (CEST)
You dont want to add them ? --FrogCrusher (talk) 14:07, 30 August 2016 (CEST)
I've added 'scorched earth' to the template.
If you want to use the other military action buttons to illustrate the land warfare page please do that without the icons template. – Lillebror (talk) 08:02, 31 August 2016 (CEST)
Ok, thank you ! FrogCrusher (talk) 14:11, 31 August 2016 (CEST)

Custom nation idea icons needed[edit]

I was updating the list of custom nation ideas with icons today and noticed a few places where there is no appropriate icon. These are all pretty niche (I just linked to the files for now), so I understand if there's no point in making them icons (though the transport cost one would be good to have for consistency, since we have heavy ship, light ship, and galley cost already).

 • Transport Cost: Transport cost.png
 • May Recruit Female Generals: May recruit female generals.png
 • Female Advisor Chance: Female advisor chance.png

Thanks, Philadelphus (talk) 03:35, 19 October 2016 (CEST)

Found one more:
 • May Perform Slave Raid: May raid coasts.png
Philadelphus (talk) 03:48, 19 October 2016 (CEST)
I've added ‘transport cost’ and ‘may raid coasts’ to the template. – Lillebror (talk) 05:33, 19 October 2016 (CEST)
Thank you very much! I'll update the nation designer page to use the new icons. Philadelphus (talk) 05:39, 20 October 2016 (CEST)

Actual -National unrest icon missing[edit]

The game has two different icons for Unrest, the one used for idea bonuses has a downwards green arrow, unlike the regular National unrest.png unrest icon the wiki uses on National ideas. I'd add it myself but I'm pretty awful when it comes to images and resizing them. Pinpinolo (talk) 13:27, 18 December 2017 (CET)

It has been considered previously -- back when the game split the general icons into their positive/negative parts. Since this would further complicate the icon template and require changing many more icon calls it is easier to leave it as is and use the general icon with green / red template denoting the value effect instead. If need be, they can be added later on. ~ SolSys (talk) 14:08, 18 December 2017 (CET)
The game uses the icon with the green arrow - always even if the sum of the modifiers is positive. The opposite icons are only used by the personalities. – Lillebror (talk) 14:40, 18 December 2017 (CET)

My first reaction (without further research): I'm pretty sure that most of the icons are already integrated. In general the icon template uses the ingame namesof the icons, not their name in the script files. – Lillebror (talk) 16:49, 1 November 2018 (CET)

I see. I think it is very useful to be compatible with script/file names. Of course, many of them have been renamed in game. For modding, I want to know exactly where the icon is. So, I hope add more switch options for script names (without underline is ok). Thanks.Ttuser (talk) 06:28, 2 November 2018 (CET)

Center of Trade icon with a number[edit]

Would it be possible to add the icons for the different levels of centers of trade that are shown in the trade node map mode? I think they would be useful in province and region lists, in the List of trade company regions and in some mission that require a certain level. The files are cot_coastal_1.dds, cot_coastal_2.dds, cot_coastal_3.dds, cot_inland_1.dds, cot_inland_2.dds and cot_inland_3.dds in "Europa Universalis IV/interface/cot_icons". The icons are identical for inland and coastal and only differ in the Roman numeral that indicates the level. Is it worth it? – Lillebror (talk) 14:13, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
I noticed later that coastal and inland are the same icons. But the roman numeral is what I'm interested in. I think this is helpful to easier understand which level of trade center a name represents. I never know which level Entrepot, Emporium or Market town are. And always writing "Level 2 center of trade" is very long. I am currently working on automatically generating the region pages which could use these icons. You can see a few examples in my Sandbox. BTW: is there a wikisyntax/template to make sure that there is no line break between an icon and its text? --Grotaclas (talk) 15:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Since it is similar to me. The RTR template doesn't use the icon template to save resources. But I hope it doesn't matter for these few icons on the region pages. (I prefer one line for each permanent modifier.)
The nowrap template prevents line breaks. – Lillebror (talk) 17:26, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Should I use something like instead of cotlvl1? I would like to use the same code to add the information to the Economic list of provinces and I assume it would be more problematic there, right? It could also generate html if that would be helpful in some way. --Grotaclas (talk) 18:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
If you use a script then try to avoid the icon template. – Lillebror (talk) 07:22, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

New Icons Needed[edit]

 • local governing cost Province governing cost.png

--IgnoredAmbience (talk) 23:02, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

I added the icon along with State governing cost.png and Trade company governing cost.png and removed "governing cost" after I checked that it is not referenced anywhere anymore.
@the moderators: please tell me if it is not ok for me to add icons.--Grotaclas (talk) 22:42, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
