Influencing future cardinals[edit]

The page on here says it elects randomly from the possible elects.

But i am using the following strategy; always try to have 2 elects

It seems the more cardinals u control the more of your elects get in. Because i get a snowball effect.

When i have 1 it seems i win about 1 of 6 elections... When i have 2 elects i win about 1 in 2,5 elections... and when i have 2 elects and 2-3 curiamembers i win about 3 in 4 elections... and when my elects + curiamembers = >50% of cardinals i rarely lose a vote and keep it at a steady 6! cardinals elected with only 2 candidates at all time.

Holy war declaration as curia holder doesn't give yourself CB?[edit]

BTW it states ingame and here that u get CB against the holy war target... im not getting it

either ingame and here are incorrect or my game is failing me....

can someone search out if im right on the first idea? and if its just that my game is bugged on the 2nd?

Influencing future cardinals[edit]

"Papal influence can only be spent if it would gain you the most influence with a particular cardinal. This means that if all of the cardinals are heavily influenced by other nations then you may not be able to spend influence" is no longer true since patch1.2 so my removal was justified. Dutchling (talk) 17:21, 25 September 2013 (CEST)

I've now restored your edit and further clarified the section. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:23, 25 September 2013 (CEST)

On second thought... (assessment class)[edit]

I reckon, apart from a few {{sup|verifications and very minor questions}}, this article is complete. On second thought, I would reclassify this as an A.--• General Baker Flag of Great Britain (Talk) • 23:25, 3 November 2013 (CET)

Once those verifications are done, I'll make it an A. Those sups are not A-level. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:00, 4 November 2013 (CET)

Papal automation[edit]

This page could use a bit of info on papal automation. A few lines at most, most likely ~ Meneth (talk) 20:40, 4 June 2014 (CEST)

Crusade ends when?[edit]

The title says it all: When does a crusade end? Does the target need to be annexed?

I haven't paid attention on this topic while playing. But in the /Europa Universalis IV/common/defines.lua is the line:
I hope that this is the answer to your question. – Lillebror (talk) 12:51, 28 August 2014 (CEST)
Ok thanks, just wasn't sure and haven't paid attention neither. Skylofter (talk) 15:38, 28 August 2014 (CEST)

maybe merge it with Catholic in Religions_and_denominations? Gendalv (talk) 14:14, 6 September 2015 (CEST)

I disagree, that page is already quite long, we may instead need to put in more of a split for the other religions to save the page getting overly long. Dauth (talk) 19:30, 6 September 2015 (CEST)
Yeah, I agree with Dauth. The Papacy is a big enough concept for a page of its own. It is the single largest religious mechanic in the game. ~ Meneth (talk) 09:57, 7 September 2015 (CEST)
Most of the info here is the same as on the religions page, it won't increase it too much. Having 2 articles with the same info means double the editing. Gendalv (talk) 12:14, 7 September 2015 (CEST)
The duplicated info should probably be removed from the other article, and a link to here added. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:11, 7 September 2015 (CEST)

Kingdom of God bug[edit]

I have no idea if known bugs are addressed in this wiki, but this one is around since a long time. (And yeah it's still present in 1.14) Dark Kain (talk) 13:52, 2 December 2015 (CET)

Does the pope's opinion of you still effect influence gain/loss?[edit]

I'm hoping it doesn't. I currently have an unhappy clergy and am losing papal influence due to modifiers. If the influence function is up to date, I will lose influence faster by improving relations. The pope dialog doesn't show opinion having an impact, but maybe there's a max(1, ...) around the first factor of the new formula? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 00:02, 20 August 2017‎ (CEST)

Ideas for curia[edit]

Should another 50 PI option be added that gives a missionary strength boost? If not, why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 16:30, 9 June 2018‎ (CEST)

Please use the forum for your suggestions. – Lillebror (talk) 15:20, 10 June 2018 (CEST)

Can someone add how excommunication can be lifted?

Merge with Christian denominations?[edit]

All is in the title. Should the page be merged? UserID (talk) 22:02, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

The mechanic is going to be expanded in 1.30 so I'm not sure at the moment if that is the best option (size-wise). At the very least we should remove duplication and use transclusion until we learn how extensive is the new content. ~ SolSys (talk) 22:13, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

"They have too much influence with the Holy Father"[edit]

You are unable to excommunicate nations with "too much influence with the Holy Father" (I believe this is Papal influence?) however it is not mentioned in the article. I don't know what the requirements are, influence-wise, in order to prevent excommunication but in my current game I cannot excommunicate Brittany because they have too much influence at 30 influence and 1 cardinal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 05:53, 7 May 2021‎ (CEST)
