Right now it seems a lot of info is duplicated between the Mac and Windows version. It'd probably be best to merge the two into one guide, with whatever differs on OS X being either in brackets or a separate paragraph depending on how much differs in each section. ~ Meneth (talk) 19:47, 31 May 2014 (CEST)
I think it would be wise to add in a list of programs that you can use to edit the map so people who are just starting to mod can easily maneuver to said programs.
This guide could really use a mention of what to do if I want to add a sea province. Took me many hours to find out, but it turns out that sea provinces are defined in 'default.map' — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesecret1 (Talk) 00:30, 20 June 2015 (CEST)
Replace_path doesn't work...
The information that directs using replace_path for files you intend on changing but also renaming does not work. The game throws an error reporting the code is not recognized. Its intended purposes is nice but an empty file of the same name will do the same thing. KeoniPhoenix (talk) 05:45, 15 October 2015 (CEST)
"pages I am about to create"
Hello. At the end of this page there is "If you are having issues with wastelands or sea tiles, I suggest you look at the pages I am about to create, will be linked here soon", but which pages? I think this page is old, so these pages should've been already created, shouldn't they? I hope this page will be updated. --Shader301202 (talk) 17:07, 4 March 2017 (CET)
- The note was by an anon editor from 2014 - it has been removed. The original editor may have since registered and created pages under another username though I can't say for sure. ~ SolSys (talk) 18:13, 4 March 2017 (CET)
Small Addition to River Section
There should be this info (I spent few hours to find out this):
- River map must have at least 1 river, otherwise game will not load.
A bit too technical
I'd just like to mention that a lot of the content on this page assumes an unreasonable degree of technical knowledge.
The following sentence -- 'Ensure the color table remains, and is ordered the same as the base version.' -- is especially guilty of this. Those words mean absolutely nothing to anyone who doesn't know what a color table is, let alone how to ensure that it 'remains.'
This page is about modding, so I think it would be fine, as pages about modding should assume some degree of technical knowledge. 220.127.116.11 20:08, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
