Visual style[edit source]

Shouldn't the main page look more like CK2 or Vicky2 main page? I would do it, but it's protected. Medibee (talk) 01:32, 10 July 2013 (CEST)

There's currently not all that much content to link to, which is why I haven't bothered making a proper front page yet. ~ Meneth (talk) 01:33, 10 July 2013 (CEST)
Wouldn't hurt to make a proper front page so that people can quickly get to areas for later editing. Medibee (talk) 02:12, 10 July 2013 (CEST)
That's a decent point. If you feel like throwing something together, you can use this talk page for a mockup. Give me a minute and I'll get the relevant templates imported. ~ Meneth (talk) 02:14, 10 July 2013 (CEST)

Favicon[edit source]

The wiki could really a favicon. So how about the forum's icon? http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/images/eu4_forumicon.png ~ Medibee (talk) 05:26, 1 August 2013 (CEST)

I'm not entirely sure anyone will associate that with EU4. Still, it'll be a decent placeholder at the very least to distinguish it from EU3. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:28, 1 August 2013 (CEST)

Demo[edit source]

You might want to link to the just-released demo in the News section. http://store.steampowered.com/app/236850/ --Pyroclastic (talk) 22:21, 8 August 2013 (CEST)

Done. I was away and could not do it at the time, sorry. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:58, 10 August 2013 (CEST)

Timeline ?[edit source]

Hi,

Wouldn't it be a good idea to make a synthetic time-line about the major events that occur in the game ?

For example,

1618 - Thirty Years War, conflict erupting in the HRE between protestant and catholic princes, expanding into a European war drawing in all major powers of the time. Ended with the devastation of Germany, decline of Spain and rise of France and Sweden.

1644 : Fall of the Ming dynasty in China after nearly three centuries of dominance over China; was replaced by the invading Manchu régime, that would become the Qing dynasty.

Thoughts ?

Sounds like a decent idea. It could perhaps go on the scenarios page? ~ Meneth (talk) 20:39, 10 August 2013 (CEST)

Game is out![edit source]

Might be worth editing that into main page :) --Generalolaf (talk) 11:09, 14 August 2013 (CEST)

Pfft, no one cares about that, right? Done. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:34, 14 August 2013 (CEST)
You still have the line "EU4 will be released on the 13th of August in 2013" on top. --Pyroclastic (talk) 23:50, 16 August 2013 (CEST)
Fixed, thanks. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:17, 17 August 2013 (CEST)

Known game bugs[edit source]

Do we have a section for these? I had a revolt in a province, playing as Cherokee. I had 7,000 troops sitting in the province Shawnee, fully funded, hadn't battled in a year (2.2ish morale). The Shawnee province revolted (4,000 nationalists). I have the game set to popup and pause on revolts, as well as on battles won\lost, and on the same day I got the popup for the revolt, I got the popup saying I had lost to battle 7,000 casualties to 0. I can think of no other explanation, and would like to add it as a "be careful about parking units in provinces that are likely to revolt notice". I was on ironman too, so it saved immediately after my army got destroyed >.<

There's no page about it currently. I don't oppose the creation of a page like that. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:16, 15 August 2013 (CEST)

Modding section?[edit source]

Link on front page? If already here some where point me there please. Thanks.

Once there are actual modding pages I'll add a link to it on the front page. ~ Meneth (talk) 18:06, 27 August 2013 (CEST)

DLC[edit source]

It's hard to find a link to the page with all the DLC. Perhaps one should be placed on the front page.

Done. ~ Meneth (talk) 07:25, 29 October 2013 (CET)

Need to add this back in

TinWiz (talk) 20:54, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

It is there. The icons were simply reordered (first are expansions and then there are immersion packs). ~ SolSys (talk) 21:01, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Diplomacy[edit source]

We should add a link to the page Diplomacy on the main page. ~ avi (talk) 14:12, 3 December 2013 (CET)

I've now added links to the diplomacy and alliance pages. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:32, 3 December 2013 (CET)

My fault. It's been fixed now. ~ Meneth (talk) 19:06, 3 December 2013 (CET)

"Latest News": Add expansion's full date[edit source]

I haven't been here for a long time! It seems that the wiki becomes amazing from a day to day!

I have a request: Can you change the expansion date from January 2014 to 14 January 2014 or 14/1/14? It will be very appreciated.

Memory bug in wiki site?[edit source]

I've been getting these error messages, and other similar messages, when loading the site.

Warning: apc_store() [function.apc-store]: Unable to allocate memory for pool. in /home/ckiiwvds/public_html/shared/includes/objectcache/APCBagOStuff.php on line 62

--Pookles (talk) 18:09, 23 December 2013 (CET)

Yeah, I'm in touch with my ISP about it. Should hopefully have it fixed soon. Luckily it doesn't affect most pages at all. ~ Meneth (talk) 18:11, 23 December 2013 (CET)

Adding to "Important Pages"?[edit source]

My first contribution to this wiki :D Anyway...
I noticed that technologies aren't listed as 'important', currently. In my humble opinion, these belong to the front page, therefore I'd like to propose the following changes:

Currently:
(Icon)Idea Groups (Icon)National Ideas

Proposed:
(Icon)Monarch Power
(Indentation)(Icon)Technologies (Icon)Idea Groups

National Ideas could/should be pushed to Countries, since they're depending on those, like:

Currently:
(Icon)Countries

Proposed:
(Icon)Countries (Icon)National Ideas

Alternatively:
(Icon)Countries
(Indentation)(Icon)National Ideas (Icon)Government types

Due to the relation between these, the "monarch power/ideas" line could then be fitted between "countries" and "economy". --88.68.53.57 18:23, 22 March 2014 (CET)

I've added in a link to the tech page now, and moved things about a bit. Also added links to the HRE and to provinces. ~ Meneth (talk) 18:44, 22 March 2014 (CET)

Wealth of Nations dev diaries[edit source]

Suggestion: add to the news the release of the first Wealth of Nation developers diary as was done with the Conquest of Paradise dev diary.

Date: 20-03-2014

Link: http://www.eu4wiki.com/Dev_diary#Wealth_of_Nations_developer_diaries Ius (talk) 16:19, 30 April 2014 (CEST)

I'll consider it. The biggest issue is keeping it updated. ~ Meneth (talk) 16:42, 30 April 2014 (CEST)
I noticed you deleted the CoP dev diary from the news, maybe you can add a link to the dev diaries among the important pages for easy access? I'm not really using the watchlist yet and helps me to maintain the page better if there is a direct link :-) Ius (talk) 22:49, 1 May 2014 (CEST)
If you can come up with an icon that fits and isn't already used on the front page, sure. ~ Meneth (talk) 22:51, 1 May 2014 (CEST)
I think this free icon suits dev diaries pretty good http://www.eu4wiki.com/File:Auto_explore_adjacent_to_colony.png Ius (talk) 11:42, 2 May 2014 (CEST)

Link to Keyboard controls among the Important pages[edit source]

While you are at it :-) I propose you maybe add a link to the keyboard controls too, http://www.eu4wiki.com/Controls I think many people can benefit from a link. Ius (talk) 11:50, 2 May 2014 (CEST)

Concerning a free icon, I found these two candidates

New page?[edit source]

I know this is kind of silly but how do you make a new page in the wiki, I've been searching for 30 minutes now and haven't found one how to make a new page yet. TheAustrianEmporer (talk) 20:28, 2 June 2014

Search for the page title. That'll give you a link to create it if it doesn't already. Note that I'm strict on what pages should exist, so don't be surprised if the page gets merged into another page. ~ Meneth (talk) 11:51, 3 June 2014 (CEST)

For French version[edit source]

Hello I am French, my level of English is low as you can see, but my motivation is big. I would like to make a translation of pages to have a version in French. Be you favorable to it? Thank you in advance (send me a mail) Slim97613

The wiki will not host any translations, I'm afraid. For info on why, see CKII:Talk:Crusader_Kings_II_Wiki#Translation. ~ Meneth (talk) 12:41, 4 July 2014 (CEST)

OK I understand, it's a pity because your wiki is a mine of information. It would have been good that all the internet community takes advantage of it. But I includes perfectly your desire to check every page to guarantee an optimal quality. Of more my level in English does not have to inspire you trust (Reverso is my friend for English ^^). If one day one of your administrators speaks rather French to be able to check pages, I volunteer to help him in his task. Thank you very much for your fast answer

Policies[edit source]

We should add a link to the page Policies on the main page. I don't know how to do it so feel free to do it. Thx anayway. :)

I agree, but it needs a fitting icon. Any ideas? Does the game have an icon indicating "policy"? ~ Meneth (talk) 11:34, 17 July 2014 (CEST)
There is the new icon /Europa Universalis IV/gfx/interface/policies_icon.dds, but I don’t know its purpose ingame. – Lillebror (talk) 08:42, 18 July 2014 (CEST)
It is used on the diplomacy screen to show how many, and which, policies a nation is using. I'll get it uploaded and add it to the page. ~ Meneth (talk) 12:35, 18 July 2014 (CEST)

Disasters[edit source]

A question in the eu4 reddit got me thinking. Do you guys think we should have a Disasters page, since the system has been introduced with 1.8/1.9? It's something I have not seen covered anywhere as of yet. --Grifen88 (talk) 08:48, 2 January 2015 (CET)

Yes, the wiki needs a page about disaster. – Lillebror (talk) 09:05, 2 January 2015 (CET)
Definitely needed. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:59, 2 January 2015 (CET)
Done. Only filled out the generic disasters at the moment, and the page lacks all the shinies at the moment, but it's there. --Grifen88 (talk) 16:56, 2 January 2015 (CET)

Achievements[edit source]

Can a link to the Achievements be added to the frontpage?--Aldwoni (talk) 14:34, 10 January 2015 (CET)

Sure, if you've got an idea for what to use as an icon for it. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:02, 10 January 2015 (CET)
I think there are enough achievement icons. Just choose one. My suggestion: Just a Little Patience.jpg – Lillebror (talk) 15:29, 10 January 2015 (CET)
A square icon doesn't really fit in all that well with the other frontpage icons. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:30, 10 January 2015 (CET)
That's right. And if one simply cut out this EU-shield? – Lillebror (talk) 15:37, 10 January 2015 (CET)
Then it'd probably look decent. The Ryukyu achievement might also be a decent candidate. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:38, 10 January 2015 (CET)
How is it with: Yearly prestige.pngAchievements? – Lillebror (talk) 18:14, 10 January 2015 (CET)
That works great. ~ Meneth (talk) 18:15, 10 January 2015 (CET)

Link to buildings page on the front page[edit source]

Shouldn't there be a link to the Buildings page on the front page - there are many other relevant pages there, and buildings are definitely something that is quite handy to have --Chrras (talk) 16:58, 7 March 2015 (CET)

You're right, it definitely should be. Need to figure out a fitting icon though. Any ideas? ~ Meneth (talk) 15:28, 9 March 2015 (CET)
I have looked through the icons page, but haven't found anything really fitting. I think I will have a look in game for possible icons later. --Chrras (talk) 16:36, 9 March 2015 (CET)
The icon used for buildings in the productions interface is fitting in my opinion - screenshot can be found here. I do not really know how to make the icons here on the wiki, so I was wondering if you could do it. Furthermore, in this screenshot is also the autonomy icon, which also isn't uploaded yet (not without the arrows for monthly autonomy change), and it would be nice if that was uploaded too. --Chrras (talk) 22:48, 9 March 2015 (CET)
Perhaps: Buildings.pngBuildings – Lillebror (talk) 23:19, 9 March 2015 (CET)
Yeah, it was that one I was talking about. Seems fitting in my opinion. --Chrras (talk) 08:39, 10 March 2015 (CET)
Not perfect, but works. Added. ~ Meneth (talk) 09:25, 10 March 2015 (CET)

Wiki logo missing from a Contributions page[edit source]

As per subj, the EU4Wiki is missing from the top left corner when you're on a user contribution page for some reason (for example). The space is blank. Vaximillian (talk) 02:37, 9 March 2015 (CET)

I know, but I have no idea what causes it. ~ Meneth (talk) 09:12, 9 March 2015 (CET)

LaTeX for Formulas[edit source]

Is is possible to have LaTeX code for math formulas? Like on Wikipedia? Thanks. Stigni (talk) 10:13, 10 March 2015 (CET)

Possible, sure. What do you want to use it for? I've had no reason to install it thus far. ~ Meneth (talk) 11:23, 10 March 2015 (CET)
Rewrite some formulas? E.g. Trade#Marginals or Land warfare. Stigni (talk) 11:30, 10 March 2015 (CET)
I'll try to remember to look into it later today. If it is simple to install, I'll install it. ~ Meneth (talk) 11:31, 10 March 2015 (CET)
I would also appreciate this very much. Note: Inline references, LaTeX formula display – Lillebror (talk) 13:29, 10 March 2015 (CET)

I'm not seeing that anywhere. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:13, 11 March 2015 (CET)
Nevermind, getting it when saving, but it disappears on refresh. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:14, 11 March 2015 (CET)
...but only some of the time apparently. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:14, 11 March 2015 (CET)
Okay, the issue should be gone now. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:35, 11 March 2015 (CET)

Regions Consolidation and Simplification[edit source]

Personally, I find it annoying when browsing the England and Ireland pages and having them cluttered with other countries (e.g. Wales and Irish minors). Also, on the regions box, clicking English region or Ireland will take you to England and Ireland. It may be beneficial to consolidate (mix) these two pages into one "British Islands" region page. This will free up a spot, which can be used with another group of nations. It is also annoying that in the "New World" regions tab, besides the already lengthy natives, there are also the same amount of former colonial nations. Also, Australia isn't even New World! It would also be easier to navigate if we renamed the "New World" tab to "New World Natives" and we used the empty slot from the British Isles consolidation to create a tab called "Former Colonial Nations". In addition, we could create pages for former colonial nations that have their own ideas/events (e.g. Canada/Brazil). It'll take some time, but it will make these regions easier to navigate! So, what do you think?

--Curbon7 (talk) 01:13, 22 March 2015 (CET)

Yes, I agree with the split off the minor countries list out of the country pages. The second suggestion leads to inconsistent names (region ↔ nations). I would like to note in this context my proposal on the regions template talk page. – Lillebror (talk) 09:09, 22 March 2015 (CET)
Sounds fine by me. ~ Meneth (talk) 12:06, 22 March 2015 (CET)
British Islands equals completed --Curbon7 (talk) 20:53, 23 March 2015 (CET)

Save converter[edit source]

We lack information on the save converter. Please, someone who knows something about it, could you create a proper page for it? Its workings are complex and mysterious, so they should be well documented. 128.214.225.20 17:47, 7 April 2015 (CEST)

I'd recommend asking the author to do so. They presumably have a thread on the forums where you could ask. ~ Meneth (talk) 02:00, 8 April 2015 (CEST)

Errors on main page[edit source]

Since not everyone can edit the main page any errors can be listed here:

  • In the 'Want to help improve the wiki?' section, "in use of improvement" should be "in need of improvement".

New page if a redirect exists?[edit source]

I was trying to figure out how to create a new page and came across the discussion here so I know how to do that now, but how do you do it if there's a redirect? Does that need to be deleted first, and how would I do that? The page in question is for the Andalusia tag, which currently redirects to the page for Iberian Peninsula.

(This is the same person as @Generalolaf, for the record, but I didn't realise I'd already made an account.) ---Malchoir (talk) 06:26, 13 June 2015 (CEST)

You can edit the redirect but it requires a bit more fiddling. An example is here AE redirect Dauth (talk) 09:45, 13 June 2015 (CEST)

I need to ask this.

Is there a list of modifiers in this wiki and if it is not,Is it going to be added? It will be useful for mod developers.

And yes,I know there is a website that has the modifiers but it is outdated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EU4-124 (Talk) 10:28, 6 August 2015‎

1.13 requirements change WARNING[edit source]

We should add a warning that since 1.13 the minimum requirements for EU4 changed, as no official page or steam page got updated with this fact yet

https://www.reddit.com/r/eu4/comments/3h052t/a_very_big_problem_with_a_bugplease_respond_asap/cu5p9tj

http://steamcommunity.com/app/236850/discussions/0/537405286661256232/

Basically 32bit players are now screwed, and as we all know many Pox players rarely update their games. Just remember the complains when either CK2 or EU4 first revealed what type of shared it requires.--134.255.20.197 18:38, 18 August 2015 (CEST)

Keep this page in order please. New content at the bottom. The 1.13 patch is currently in a beta. If you have a link from the paradox forums confirming this then a note can be added to the Patch 1.12 page and the requirements updated. Dauth (talk) 19:45, 18 August 2015 (CEST)
I've had a look and agree that systems with less than 2Gb are suffering a problem. However 64 bit processors and OSs have been out since 2001 with mass market usage from 2005 and expecting games to submit to demands of systems 14 years out of date isn't entirely reasonable. Dauth (talk) 19:55, 18 August 2015 (CEST)
Existence of 64bit doesn't change the fact that Paradox players are known to be reluctant (or moneywise unable) to update hardware. If you can, try to remember the many complains at early CK2/EU4 release time when people complained on required shader type. I don't have the actual forum link but there is multiple confirmation on it, it may probably be in the tech subforum. I played yesterday EU4 at my friends house, we had no problem on his PC (it has EXACTLY 2 GB RAM, not less) till now, but he updated the game to 1.13, last weekend we still played on a version of 1.12(X/something) with no issues, and it is fairly strange that someone decided to ramp up the requirements as I seriously doubt that patch needed suddenly more RAM or 64bit to work when the previous one didn't. In any case, notifying wiki users of the change in minimum requirement should be of high priority, because not even Steam had it changed yet from 2Gb. For actual confirmation source maybe try contacting one of the 2 people giving the info on the linked pages (one on reddit, other on Steam) --134.255.20.197 20:09, 18 August 2015 (CEST)
Talking to one person at Paradox, the recommendation I got was that it should be reported as a specific issue in the bug reports forum. Point out the mismatch between the stated requirements and the current actual requirements, and something should hopefully be done about it. Beyond that, I'm not sure there's anything the wikis can do.
Here's a few links showing the problem you can use to back up your bug report:

Thanks for looking into it, and I hope it really is just a bug and not a permanent change by Pox, because if it is then 5 out of my 6 friends in the group can't play EU4 anymore, basically ruining it for us. In any case, the 'bug' should still be pointed out somehow on the wiki, as it is a current issue. --134.255.20.197 20:37, 18 August 2015 (CEST)
Whether it is a bug or a permanent change I don't know, but a bug report is the best way to get something (a fix, or an indication on the Steam page) done.
I'm not sure there's anywhere on the wiki it'd be reasonable to note it though. Perhaps a note on the Europa Universalis 4 page. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:40, 18 August 2015 (CEST)

You can create them yourself. Also remember to sign your post with four tyldas. Puchacz (talk) 14:46, 30 December 2015 (CET)
Please sign your talk page edits with ~~~~ . Yes lots of countries don't have pages. Countries without their own pages get redirected to the super-region/continental-region page they belong to. This pages contain usually most of the general details concerning them. If there is a specific country without a page that you have something to write about [strategy, events/decisions etc.] please feel free to do so. Sorry about forgetting to sign. How do you create your own country pages? DiogoCosta (talk) 14:52, 30 December 2015 (CET)
No worries, it just helps us follow the flow of a conversation if we were away when it happened. When you hit the Mewar button it will redirect you to the page/section, at the top of the page there is a note saying you were redirected, click on the link and it will take you to the redirect without executing it See here for the Mewar example. The just hit the edit button and you're ready to make the page. The style guide for country pages is here Europa_Universalis_4_Wiki:Style/Country. Dauth (talk) 14:58, 30 December 2015 (CET)

Slight tangent, but related - How does one add country pages to the Country Guides box? Some existing countries are missing too, for instance, Scotland. 5.148.139.218 18:25, 30 December 2015 (CET)

Some of admins decided, than only articles assessed B, A or FA will find their way into Country Guides box. You have to edit a template for specific Continent to add new nation. Puchacz (talk) 18:30, 30 December 2015 (CET)
I'll add to that, the pages need to be B class or above and have a strategy guide. Dauth (talk) 19:28, 30 December 2015 (CET)
Very minor correction: one of the admins and one or two of the mods. There's effectively only one administrator on these wikis: me. Two Paradox employees also have admin powers, but everything day-to-day is handled by me. Dauth and Lillebror are moderators and not affiliated with Paradox. ~ Meneth (talk) 23:30, 30 December 2015 (CET)

Modifiers writing format[edit source]

Not sure if this is the proper place to put this, but in any case:

Is there a standard format for writing modifiers/flags? The wiki currently seems to do it in three different ways:

  • Write them as is written in the files, e.g. tur_janissary
  • Some sort of awkward "transliteration", e.g. Tur Janissary
  • As they appear in-game (and also in modifiers_l_english.yml), e.g. The Janissaries

Obviously the first is easier to use when being searched for in files (and thus a lot more convenient for modders), the third much more readable (as the "variable"-version doesn't always make sense), and the second is just.. bad — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vakz (Talk) 14:31, 17 January 2016 (CET)

As they appear in-game. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:32, 17 January 2016 (CET)
Flag don't have a localisation in the game. – Lillebror (talk) 14:41, 17 January 2016 (CET)
True. For flags, go with how it's in the files. ~ Meneth (talk) 14:42, 17 January 2016 (CET)

There is a strategy for Commonwealth?[edit source]

I don't see guide for Commonwealth or Poland in this box: {{Country navbox}} — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.254.67.22 (Talk) 16:12, 7 February 2016‎ (CET)

We only include guides for pages rated B or above in the navbox. ~ Meneth (talk) 16:16, 7 February 2016 (CET)

Loading screens[edit source]

Is there already a page about the loading screen artwork? If there isn't one, would it be okay if I were to make such a page? Adding the portraits of the rulers (loading screens) and some information about the people in them. That wouldn't infringe some copyright laws or alike, by uploading those pictures? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mange98 (talk) 17:21, 18 October 2016

There's no such page. I'll ask to make sure it is fine to upload those images. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:40, 18 October 2016 (CEST)
Thanks. Mangetornet (talk) 17:48, 18 October 2016 (CEST)
The answer is that that's fine. Just make sure to pick the "Copyrighted by Paradox" option from the license dropdown when you upload the images. ~ Meneth (talk) 09:17, 19 October 2016 (CEST)
Thanks once again for your help. Mangetornet (talk) 14:57, 19 October 2016 (CEST)
Would it not be better due to their size to have the images in another file format (jpg)? – Lillebror (talk) 07:51, 21 October 2016 (CEST)

New Page (as of January 2017)[edit source]

Hi, I wanted to create a new page for the achievement A Decent Reserve, but I can't seem to figure out how to create it. The two related sections on this talk are not really helpful. Perhaps something changed in the intervening years. So. Is it possible to create a new page, and how? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Illyrien (talk) 11:07, 27 January 2017‎ (CET)

We have redirects for the achievements, this means if the page doesn't exist it sends you to the achievement page. If after clicking the link you scrolled to the top you'd see the note about the redirect. The unredirected page is available at this link. If you want to create the page then edit the redirect out and start there. Please remember to sign your talk page edits with four tiles ~~~~ Dauth (talk) 11:12, 27 January 2017 (CET)

Estates[edit source]

Could a link to Estates be included under the Realm header? It's a fairly big mechanic and the lack of a link is kind of puzzling. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.139.215.130 (talk) 14:33, 30 March 2017‎

Why does everyone keep deleting my Germiyan page?[edit source]

It's just annoying, OK?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Sammy (talk) 08:13, 14 December 2017‎

Moderator response: As I said in the edit summary the country is not notable. It has no unique ideas, decisions, events or missions. It also does not exist at the start of the game. Given that the vast majority of players play from 1444 onwards it is not going to be used. Also in the latest attempt you failed to use a transcluded decision for the formation of Rum which would also lead to fractured versions of information across the wiki. I hope this explains the decision. Please also sign your talk page edits with ~~~~ Thanks, Dauth (talk) 11:48, 14 December 2017 (CET)

Main page has 1 incorrect link[edit source]

The link to "2017-11-28 - Dev diary #18 - Japan and the Philippines posted" should be ending with /forum/index.php?threads/eu4-development-diary-28th-of-november-2017.1057699/ instead of /forum/index.php?threads/eu4-development-diary-21st-of-november-2017.1056463/ (I am not permitted to post actual external links here) - Solvychegodsk (talk) 14:12, 16 December 2017 (CET)

New Rome Wiki[edit source]

I am posting this on this forum becase the rome one is empty but, Is anyone going to make a wiki for the new Rome game that is coming out?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.32.205.32 (talk) 04:17, 20 May 2018‎ (CEST)

A wiki is likely to be made due to it being a PDS game, but not at this point. More details will be available at a later date. ~ SolSys (talk) 12:23, 20 May 2018 (CEST)

Can we edit the editor?[edit source]

I was wondering if we could add the visual editor from actual Wikipedia? --Eddie Howell (talk) 23:30, 26 June 2018 (CEST)

That's largely dependent on the mediawiki version we run. Since 1.27.X is an LTS version that's supported for the best part of another 12 months. I wouldn't expect much to change. I'll poke our admin but as I said, its doubtful. Dauth (talk) 00:03, 27 June 2018 (CEST)

Adding link to a page[edit source]

I ve created this (https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Anglophile) Anglophile guide but it don't appear in the Achievement main page, it s linked only in the England page. Please can someone solve it? For the future, how can I do it myself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marze1992 (talk) 14:26, 13 August 2018‎ (CEST)

I think I do not understand exactly what you mean.
The list on the achievement page uses the {{achievement}} template, to enable a link just set the 'link' parameter to on. – Lillebror (talk) 20:32, 13 August 2018 (CEST)

Fixing this little problem?[edit source]

https://imgur.com/a/xc18M2m

I know its not that big of an issue but its kinda uneven, could just get changed to make the page just a little more neat. Would fix myself but site is locked — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrizz (talk) 13:21, 31 January 2020‎

It's actually on purpose (being related to provinces). But seeing as all the other shifted entries became their own thing with time we could change it. Please sign your comment with ~~~~. ~ SolSys (talk) 13:04, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

Getting Started[edit source]

I've played this game over 10 000 hours and I never use Console commands. So having them under getting started is kinda meh. Its not something a new player need to learn to play the game. It should be moved to Meta since its more used if you mod/change the game in any way.

However many beginner have a hard time understand how technology and provinces works. Mission/decision is a way to guide new players what they should do when playing a nation. So they should be displayed in Getting started and not hidden away under Extra. Suggest that instead having things like "Provinces" "Technology" "Institutions" "Missions" "Decisions" hidden under Extra move it to Getting started. Also Colonization is an big integral part of the game and should also be moved from Extra to Getting started. This will make it 8 items under Getting started so its not so empty.

I agree, the groupings could use a redesign. Extra is a non-group anyway, and monuments need to be added somewhere. -- Iferius (talk) 08:30, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Done. – Lillebror (talk) 11:05, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Getting strated is just the basic general info on all the wikis. It doesn't include the more "in-depth" articles. Console commnads are put there since those pages are the most visited ones on the wikis. ~ SolSys (talk) 19:03, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

rollback dlc/imersion pack devide[edit source]

the devide between dlc and immersion pack is more or less a marketing one, most users don't care for these categories, while the release date actually matters, and thus imo all dlc should be listed by release date again, as it used to be until recently Rakonax (talk) 04:09, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

More country articles[edit source]

I honestly feel like every country that is the primary country of a culture should have a page on this wiki. I'm already making one for Gaeldom. --Sammy (talk) 04:00, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

but what is the purpose of these articles? The Flag of Gaeldom Gaeldom article which you restored has no unique information. They have neither unique ideas nor missions nor unique decisions nor events nor a strategy. Restoring gaeldom even entered wrong information, because the decision to form Scotland is outdated and the page doesn't show which idea Gaeldom has(the article Europe_western_regions#Gaeldom where Gaeldom redirected shows correctly which ideas they get). Flag of Kurland Kurland is different, because it is a formable country and the formation decision can't otherwise be found easily. --Grotaclas (talk) 09:00, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
And I just noticed that the Flag of Gaeldom Gaeldom article has the wrong culture and outdated government information, both of which are correct in the list of regional countries --Grotaclas (talk) 09:18, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

Scrolling is disabled on Firefox[edit source]

I noticed that I cannot scroll down on any wiki page anymore. I've first experienced this about a 1-2 weeks ago, but it worked fine a month ago. This is true on both computers I can test on, however my mobile phone can scroll just fine in both the desktop and mobile website. I still think it's the browser as Microsoft Edge works fine. Any other page works fine, except other paradoxwiki pages. And with I cant scroll down I mean it, neither scroll wheel, arrow keys nor pg up/down move anything. If a link automatically sends me to the middle of a page, I get there, but cannot move the page manually still. I'd appreciate if this issue is resolved rather soon, or if one could link me to where such issues can be resolved.
