This is a list of all events caused by overextension.

Our infamy is causing widespread resent of our war effort. A lot of men are basically running to the forest instead of reporting for duty.

Apparently citing "disgust with $COUNTRY$'s endless wars of conquest" some Trade Nodes have decided to expel our merchants.

  • In any trade node with an active merchant, does not have the modifier “Absent Merchant”
Is triggered only by
  • the overextension pulse.

  • One random trade node with an active merchant that does not have the modifier “Absent Merchant”
    • gets the trade modifier “Absent Merchant” for 10 years, giving:
      • Trade power.png −10 Trade power
    • If the trade share of this country there is at least 5%, then:
      • the country loses Gold Icon.png ducats equal to the amount that the country would earn there in 10 months

Msg event.pngMerchants Assassinated!


Some countries are apparently so appalled by our foreign policy that they've decided to retaliate by assassinating our merchants in an attempt to strike at our finances!
What makes it even more shocking is that it happens even in our own Trade Nodes...

Magistrates are the very sinews of a country, and unfortunately all ours are resigning!
They claim this to be a protest to the burden of never-ending wars that has been laid upon them.

Purely Nasty events[edit]

This is a province event dealing with separatism in overextended countries. It was extracted from /Europa Universalis IV/events/PurelyNasty.txt.
