Strategy[edit | edit source]

In 1444 Mysore is one of minor nations in the South India and it is recommended for advanced players. Mysore religion is Hindu, therefore player do not need to worry about heretics or heathens on his territory until reaching the north of India later game. Hindu religion allows to choose deity.
Early game
The main threat is Vijayanagar, which is then one of the most powerful nations in India.
First, Mysore should focus on protection from
Vijayanagar. The best way is to make alliance with
Bahmanis. For this purpose it is good to choose Ganesha for diety and improve relations with
Bahmanis. It is almost as powerful and will almost always want to fight against its rival.
Second, Mysore should quick beat other minors such as
Kolathunad ,
Calicut,
Kochin,
Venad and
Madurai, before
Vijayanagar will do it. Player can hire mercenaries or even raise an army above the land force limit. Conquer neighboring provinces and make sure you get 3 war reparations at the same time. It unlocks mission from mission tree which significantly boosts country and makes further expansion easier. After that Mysore could attack
Vijayanagar with
Bahmanis and take from it few cores. Depending on Mysore’s army strength it is good to change deity to Shiva or Shakti, after ruler’s death or abdication.
An alternative strategy involves being vassalized by Vijayanagar and using the independence war to take territory and gain powerful allies. At the game start delete your fort in Seringapatam and your army. Then insult
Vijayanagar. They will almost certainly declare war on you before anyone else. Immediately offer a peace deal where you get vassalized. If
Vijayanagar will not accept this or if they declare war on someone else, restart. You'll probably have to give up some cores in the peace as well. It's very important to get rid of your northern province Seringapatam. The reason for this is that
Bahmanis has it set as a vital interest and will be hostile to you as long as you have it, meaning they won't support your independence. You can either give up the province in the peace deal or in some cases
Vijayanagar will take it from you as a subject interaction. During the truce improve relations with
Bahmanis and
Vijayanagar's other rivals. It helps if you take Ganesha as your deity and a diplo rep advisor to help secure their aid. Don't worry about building an army at this point, it would be of no use in the independence war as
Vijayanagar would just destroy it immediately. When the truce expires declare independence war. You hopefully will have several allies to beat
Vijayanagar. You still want to keep
Bahmanis as an ally for the time being so don't take any provinces they have set as vital interest, even if they are your cores. Conquer territory they have set as yellow or not at all. Give your war allies land in the peace deal if you can to keep them as your allies, but particularly prioritize
Bahmanis. Now you can build your army, and curry favors with your allies during the truce so you can call them in to your next conquest war against
Vijayanagar. You might be able to keep
Bahmanis happy for at least one more war until you get big enough so try not to take territory they want if you can avoid it. You'll want to dev spawn Renaissance somewhere around this time so if you're short on monarch points to do so you can declare a humiliation war against
Vijayanagar and take a Show Strength peace to help out. Regardless, once you've taken as much territory as you can without antagonizing
Bahmanis you can finally do a war with
Vijayanagar where you take your remaining cores and whatever other land you want. Conquer your way to sharing a border with
Bahmanis now. They are your next target because you'll probably have annexed most of
Vijayanagar by now.
Bahmanis will break their alliance with you of course, and during the truce you can start improving relations with their rivals so you can get allies to take them down next, again using your deity choice of Ganesha and a diplo rep advisor to help you get alliances with bigger countries such as
Bengal.
Further expansion
After beating Vijayanagar few times and taking land from them Mysore should become a significant nation on the south, especially after taking most of Coromandel trade. Mysore can now easily conquer Ceylon.
This is good time to make Bahmanis your rival and ally his rivals such as Malwa,
Delhi,
Bengal or
Orissa. After conquering Bahmanis lands Mysore should become a powerful nation in India.
Player can now focus on conquering central India due to mission tree, east coast of India and further Bengal and taking control over Bengal trade node and west coast of India. After protecting Gujarat trade node it is good idea to make Guajrat Home Trade node and transfer there all of Indian trade.
Mysore has an opportunity to form Marathas or
Bharat.
After conquering all of India it is good to conquer Indochina Super-region, which provides a lot of money.
Recommended Idea Groups
Mysore has very good traditions and national ideas. Beginning with +10% Morale of armies Mysore’s army is a superior comparing to other minor nations.
First 3 ideas, depending on monarch points and situation
Administrative– perfect for quick conquering and blobbing in India. Stacking with -10% Core-creation cost from Mysore ideas and possible -10% Core-creation from Shiva diety, Mysore can have -45% Core-creation in very early game, which makes conquering super cheap.
Defensive/
Aristocratic– Mysore starts with good defensive position and national tradition +10% Morale of armies. Stacking it with +15% Morale of armies makes Mysore’s army very powerful. Although it is a good idea to take Aristocratic ideas which boost Mysore’s cavalry, manpower and makes Military technology cheaper.
Diplomatic– perfect for making strategic alliances and improving relations after aggressive expansion. Despite high army morale good diplomacy is key to win as Mysore.
It is also recommended to take Offensive,
Trade,
Economic,
Quantity,
Religious/
Humanist.
