Militarization

Militarization is a broad term summary for three different mechanics of similar name and function.
Militarization is represented via a meter in the Government tab of the interface and has a value scaling from 0 to 100%.
The meter shows the current percentage of Militarization the country has. The Boni from Militarization scale linearly with its current percentage.

Militarization[edit | edit source]

The government reforms Stratocratic Administration, Militaristic Divine State, Crusading Empire, Livonian Militarist Monarchy and Zulu Tribe have access to militarization.
The government has acces to the "Boost Militarization" interaction, which at the cost of 45 Military power.png military power, raises Militarization of state.png militarization by 10
At 100% Militarization of state.png militarization of the state the country will gain:

Discipline.png +10% Discipline
Manpower recovery speed.png +20% Manpower recovery speed
Land maintenance modifier.png −20% Land maintenance modifier
Militarization of state.png -0.5 Militarization of state


Prussian Militarization[edit | edit source]

The government reform Prussian Monarchy has access to Prussian militarization.
The nation starts with "Early Prussian Militarization", which can be upgraded to "Prussian Militarization" with the Flag of Prussia Prussia Mission "Army Reforms" and finally be upgraded to "Total prussian Militarization" with the "An army with a State" mission
Early Prussian Militarization and Prussian Militarization only have acces to the "Boost Militarization" interaction, which at the cost of 50 Military power.png military power, raises Militarization of state.png militarization by 10


At 100% Militarization of state.png early Prussian militarization, the country will gain:

  • Manpower recovery speed.png+10% Manpower recovery speed
  • Land maintenance modifier.png-20% land maintenance modifier
  • Discipline.png+5% Discipline
  • Militarization of state.png-0.1 monthly early prussian militarization


At 100% Militarization of state.png Prussian militarization, the country will gain:

  • Manpower recovery speed.png+20% Manpower recovery speed
  • Land maintenance modifier.png-20% land maintenance modifier
  • Discipline.png+10% Discipline
  • Militarization of state.png-0.5 monthly prussian militarization


Total Prussian Militarization has the same modifiers as Prussian Militarization but grants access to the "Scharnhorst maneuvers" and "Reform the Military manual" government interactions, additionally to "Boost Militarization".

  • "Scharnhorst Maneuvers" allows the nations to spend 20 Militarization to gain "Thunderous Advance" for 5 years, granting the following :
    • Movement speed.png+15% Movement speed
  • "Reform the military Manual" allows the nation to spend 20 Militarization to gain "New Military Manual" for 5 years, granting the following :
    • Monthly war exhaustion.png-0.05 Monthly war exhaustion
    • Reinforce speed.png+25% Reinforce speed
    • Army drill decay modifier.png-33% Regiment drill loss


Mercenary Militarization[edit | edit source]

The government reforms "Elite Mercenaries", available to nations that have completed Mercenary ideas and "Swiss Mercenaries", available to all Swiss nations, have access to Mercenary militarization.
The "Sweeten Mercenary Contracs" government interaction can increase Mercenary Militarization by 5, at the cost of Gold Icon.png0.1 years worth if income.
