Versioning beta patches[edit source]

Should Patch 1.13 be considered actual (like in this article) before it is released in non-beta version? Puchacz (talk) 15:12, 26 August 2015 (CEST)

There's no real reason to refrain from updating pages to the beta patch that I can see, so yes.
The version number is shown in the version template for this reason. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:19, 26 August 2015 (CEST)
I'm not sure. In Achievements we have for example 70 years requirement for Die Please Die, while in 1.12 it is 80. Players may get really confused with not receiving achievement despite qualifying for it by this wiki standards. I feel it is rather misleading, when actual info is replaced with the information about planned version. In fact, I would restrain from deleting older, still available to run version infos, perhaps hiding it is better (now I have to check history of pages when looking for 1.11 info). Keeping old info on the page gets really bloated, so I don't think that's a real option.
There are definitely a few minor drawbacks to including beta info, but I think the page being marked as 1.13 mostly eliminates those drawbacks, and that the benefit of the wiki being more up to date once the beta is done outweighs the drawbacks. ~ Meneth (talk) 15:34, 26 August 2015 (CEST)
Yes, the version numbers are now displayed for the current version. However, this applies only to the pages not to the sections. Also some parts of articles doesn't have a versioning at all, e.g. the country infoboxes and national ideas infoboxes on country pages.
I would associate myself with the opinion of Puchacz. It's confusing. – Lillebror (talk) 08:57, 27 August 2015 (CEST)
