Jerusalem is ours, but we must entrench ourselves deeper into the Holy Land if we are to survive here. We must carve out a kingdom in the Syrian desert.

It is disgraceful that many of our holiest cities have fallen to heathenry and sin. We must restore the Christian faith to the Holy Land.
All provinces in the following areas follow the state religion:

We must safeguard our crusade by taking control of Egypt, re-establishing the Archbishopric of Alexandria and making the land a safe place for Christian pilgrims.

The Abyssinians claims to be the custodians of the Ark of the Covenant, the sacred casket containing the tablets of the Ten Commandments given to Moses. Such a holy relic will only be safe in our hands. We must discover the location of the Ark and secure it in our capital.

Support for a renewed crusade against the heathens in Greece has waned since the failure at Varna. We must convince the Pope to legitimize our unwavering efforts to reclaim Greece in the name of Christ.

    • Has increased its Development.png total development by at least 10
The country gains a permanent claim on the following areas if not owned by Flag of The Papal State The Papal State:
  • Morea
  • Aegean Archipelago
Foothold in Greece icon
Foothold in Greece
It would be wise to begin our conquest of Greece by establishing a foothold in the south. Whether this is achieved by combatting the heathens directly or by parting other Christian rulers from their holdings does not matter. This land is vital to our crusade.
At least 5 provinces in the following areas are owned by the country or its non-tributary subjects:

The island of Malta will be an excellent base of operations in our wars against the heathen pirates of Africa. We must convert the island into a great and unassailable fortress.

Opportunity awaits in the New World. As well as being a vast, untapped source of riches to fund our crusades, it is also home to many native peoples who have not yet heard the word of God. We must establish a colony and spread our mission to the west.

Legends tell of the Fountain of Youth, its water so blessed that it can heal the sick and prevent death by ageing. If such a miraculous thing truly exist, we must secure it for our sacred order. Immortality awaits!
If the "Fountain of Youth" has been discovered or there are still undiscovered provinces in South America:
  • The country or a non-tributary subject owns a province with the modifier "Water of Life"

Else:

  • The country or a non-tributary subject owns the Amazon area
The country gains "Guardians of the Fountain" until the end of the game, giving:
