Cossack Independence
The Cossacks have grown so powerful that they have broken of to form a country of their own, outside of our control.

Cossack Independence[1] is a disaster that may occur in countries with a powerful CossacksCossacks estate.

Prerequisites[edit]

The country:

  • has a CossacksCossacks estate which has at least Estate influence 80 influence.
  • did not have this disaster in the last 12 months.[2]

If these prerequisites are met, the monthly progress can begin.

  • has a Cossacks estate with at least 100 influence.

  • has an ongoing disaster or has a Cossacks estate with less than 100 influence.

The country gets the modifier “Cossack Revolts and Deserting Serfs” for 15 years with the following effects:

  • Development cost.png +15% development cost,
  • National tax modifier.png −15% national tax modifier,
  • Cavalry cost.png +10% cavalry cost.

All provinces of the country with steppe terrain declare independence, forming their own republic with Sich Rada government and Cossack ideas.

The country gets the modifier “Cossack Revolts and Deserting Serfs” for 15 years with the following effects:

  • Development cost.png +15% development cost,
  • National tax modifier.png −15% national tax modifier,
  • Cavalry cost.png +10% cavalry cost.

All provinces of the country with steppe terrain declare independence, forming their own republic with Sich Rada government and Cossack ideas.

The human player takes over this new country.

Note: The newly formed nation gets a 15 years truce with its former overlord and free cores on all of its provinces (these cores do not substitute those of the "parent" nation).

The disaster ends immediately (without any conditions).

    • The country does not have the flag “cossack_estate_triggered”, i.e. never had this disaster before.
    • The flag “cossack_estate_triggered” was last set for the country at least 365 days ago, i.e. had this disaster but not in the last 12 months.
  3. The flag “cossack_estate_triggered” is set for this country.
