[Root.Monarch.GetName] is a devoted follower of the Hussite sect, putting [Root.Monarch.GetHerselfHimself] at odds with the Catholic Church. Hussite Traditions

Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.31. |
Hussite traditions are still remembered amongst the people of Bohemia. Now that the thesis of Luther has been widely known, more and more important people are openly declaring themselves to be Protestant rather than Hussite. We must decide whether to retain a distinct Hussite identity or join the wider Protestant Reformation.

Winter King in Prague
![]() |
Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.31. |
In 1608 the tension increased between the Catholic parts and the Protestant parts of the Empire. The Protestants entered a union under the prince Fredrik of Pfalz that was supported by Brandenburg and Hessen-Kassel. The Catholics answered by forming a union of their own, the Catholic league. In 1618 the Protestants of Bohemia rebelled and choose a Protestant king of Bohemia, Fredrik of Pfalz. The emperor couldn't accept this, as he also was king of Bohemia. He sent his experienced commander Tilly with his troops to Bohemia and in the battle of the White Mountain, Fredrik of Pfalz's reign ended. All Protestant resistance in Austria and southern Germany was crushed. Fredrik escaped from Bohemia and was named 'The Winter King' due to his short reign.

A new [From.Monarch.GetTitle] has ascended the throne of [From.GetName]. Like [From.Monarch.GetHerHis] predecessors [From.Monarch.GetTitle] [From.Monarch.GetName] has chosen to keep the heretic Hussite faith, in open defiance to all that is proper. The Compacts of Basel
![]() |
Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.31. |
The Hussite Wars concluded with religious peace between the moderate Utraquist faction of the Hussites and the Catholic Church. Thus far the Compacts have been honored and peace has returned to Bohemia. Yet tensions with the Hussites have not disappeared; the followers of Hus count many among both the people and the nobility among their number. Perhaps we ought to eradicate their heresy before they take up arms once more.

Barbara of Cilli
![]() |
Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.33. |
The royal Order of the Dragon was created by Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and Barbara of Cilli, Holy Roman Empress and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. This order requires its initiates - selected nobility - to defend the cross and fight the enemies of Christianity. Serving as regent when her husband was absent, Barbara also administered large feudal fiefdoms and taxes independently, and was actively involved in politics and economy. When the two of them attended the Council of Constance, many were struck by her youth, vitality and beauty.
With the death of her husband in 1437 Barbara has taken on the role of a dowager queen, settling down in Bohemia and retired from political life. Despite this the Imperial court still views her with some suspicion. We could certainly benefit from her experience though giving her a position of influence might strain relations with the Emperor.

The Fate of Brandenburg
![]() |
Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.30. |
According to Imperial law, the Electorate of Brandenburg remains in the hands of the [BRA.Monarch.GetTitle] despite our suzerainty. Naturally the other Electors would be less inclined to support ours bids for Emperorship if we are seen to be forcing their peers to vote in our favor. If however we depose the [BRA.Monarch.GetTitle] and put our own [Root.Monarch.GetTitle] on the throne, the electorate would pass to [Root.Monarch.GetHerHim] and the issue would be bypassed. Though this would surely upset the lords of Brandenburg.
Alternatively, we could restore the historical March of Brandenburg, once a protective buffer for the German lords against their enemies to the east.

The Fate of Saxony
![]() |
Please help with verifying or updating this infobox. It was last verified for version 1.30. |
The Electorate of Saxony, by the laws of the Holy Roman Empire, remains in the hands of the [SAX.Monarch.GetTitle] of Saxony despite the nation having become our subject. The other Electors are unlikely to endorse our candidacy if we are seen to be coercing the Saxon Elector. We could however we depose the [SAX.Monarch.GetTitle] in favor of our [Root.Monarch.GetTitle], creating a Personal Union. The electorate would then pass to [Root.Monarch.GetHerHim]. Unfortunately this plan would not be popular among the Saxon lords.
