 The $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Seize Power

$MONARCH$ has allowed the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ of $COUNTRY$ to grow too powerful and now they have made their move. Exercising the wide range of privileges and rights granted to them, they have effectively seized the reins of government and turned the $MONARCHTITLE$ into little more than their puppet.

Trigger conditions

the start of ‘Aristocratic Coup’ disaster.

Immediate effects

[2]

We should have seen this coming...

The country:

  • loses  1 stability.

If the country

else it gets the modifier “Nobility in Power”

  • … until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision with the following effects:
    •   −0.5 yearly legitimacy,
    •   +0.03 monthly autonomy change,
    •   +10% infantry cost,
    •   +25% cavalry cost.

[Root.GetName] will now be controlled by the Nobility until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision is taken.

While the disaster is ongoing the country gets:

  •   −25% national tax modifier,
  •   −25% global trade power,
  •   −25% trade efficiency.

EndEdit

The disaster can only be ended by the following decision.[3]

id

 Curtail the Nobility

Our government is run by and for the aristocracy. To adopt a more centralized administration we will need to curtail their power and privileges.

Potential requirements

One of the following must be true for the country:

  • has an ongoing ‘Aristocratic Coup’ disaster.[4]
  • has the modifier “Nobility in Power”, “Junker Dominance”, “Ümera Dominance”, “Shizu Dominance”, “Dominance of the Bushi”, “Amir Dominance”, “Mamluk Amir Dominance”, “Dominance of the Boyars” or “Nobility in Power”.
Allow

The country:

  • has a stability of at least 1.
  • does not have rebel armies in its provinces.
  • does not have rebel controlled provinces.
  • has a Nobility estate which influence is lower than 60.

Effects

The country:[5]

  • loses  3 stability,
  • loses  25 prestige.

If the country has the modifier “Nobility in Power”, “Junker Dominance”, “Ümera Dominance”, “Shizu Dominance”, “Dominance of the Bushi”, “Amir Dominance”, “Mamluk Amir Dominance”, “Dominance of the Boyars” or “Nobility in Power” then it is removed.

Then the following event is triggered.

 The $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Curtailed

We have managed to limit the influence of the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ to tolerable levels. $ESTATE_NOBLES$ privileges have been revoked and their properties reduced. The $ESTATE_NOBLES$ themselves have grudgingly agreed that the $MONARCHTITLE$ is the undisputable leader of this country and the stamp formerly used by the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ in place of [Root.Monarch.GetHerHis] signature has been destroyed.
